BAD MOVE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (51 degrees) where, on my morning walk, in a steady rain, I saw: 2 robins and a raccoon! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline from Reuters, saddened me and may result in the judgment of God on America: “The Biden Administration confirmed on Tuesday evening that it would withhold a large shipment of bombs from being sent to its intended destination in Israel. An anonymous official told Reuters that the United States began a review of the bomb shipment back in April. had enacted such a pause since the war began in October.” As a result of that review, we have paused one shipment of weapons last week,” the official said, confirming that the shipment consisted of 1,800 units of 2,000-pound bombs and another 1,700 units of 500-pound bombs. This was reportedly the first time the U.S. had enacted such a pause since the war began last October.”

Now, you might ask: “So, what’s the big deal since we send bombs to Ukraine and, maybe even other “allies?” Well, the “big deal” is that, according to Zechariah 2:8, we read: “For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you (Israel), touches the apple of His eye.”

Now granted, Israel has been suffering consequences, even the judgment of God, for not accepting the Lord Jesus as her Messiah and Savior. In fact, we read in Zechariah 13:8, 9 where the prophet wrote: “And it will come about in all the land (Israel),” declares the Lord, that two parts in it will be cur off and perish; but the third will be left in it. And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say. “They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘the Lord is my God.'”

It is my opinion (and I could be wrong) that President Biden’s move to halt sending weapons to Israel may just be the “last straw” which could lead to the destruction of the United States! So, in the meantime, let us “pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).”

Before I head off to work, let me ask you: “Have you agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16)?” If not, please do so right now. And, if you are a believer in Jesus: watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings & prayers, Doug (5/9/24)

MY MISTAKE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 2 planes and a robin! Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of sight!

Many of you who have followed my blog over the years know that I have often written about “earthquakes,” mainly because Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7, and Mark 13:8, that one of the “signs” leading up to His return would be “earthquakes in various places.” I must confess, in case you hadn’t noticed, when I quote this verse, I often leave out part of it, as Jesus really said: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.”

Certainly there are famines all around the world. And, even though we may have an occasional food shortage in America, for the most part, we usually not only have something to eat, but also plenty of it. And yet, Scripture speaks of a different kind of famine which many of us, even as Christians, often take for granted. Hear what the prophet Amos had to say in Amos 8:11, “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord God, when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, but rather for hearing the words of the Lord.”

All I can says is “how sad!” And yet, both Jesus, in Matthew 24:10, and Paul, in II Thessalonians 2:3, prophesied this would happen. And, in case you didn’t know, right now, many “Christians” are leaving their churches, falling away from the true faith in Christ and opening the door, whether they realize it or not, for the Antichrist and his rule which will lead them straight to hell.

Let me ask you: “Are you one of them?” If you are, please know you still have time to repent, that is, to agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Then, “fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and keep them there while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/6/24)

QUAKES & FLARES!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (55 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 12 robins and a beautiful sliver of the moon! Thank You, Jesus!

Here are a couple of recent headlines which got my attention:

#1. Heart of Tornado Alley shaken by 3.4 magnitude earthquake (Fox Weather)

#2. 4 solar flares simultaneously erupt from the sun in rare ‘super’ explosion – and Earth could be hit by the fallout (Live Science)

In the first article, Andrew Wulfeck of FOX Weather reported: “While many in Oklahoma received a break from severe weather Thursday, a 3.4 (‘minor) magnitude earthquake shook communities in the central part of the state, sending people to social media to figure out what was going on. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake was centered near Edmond, Oklahoma (population: 81,405, as of 2010), and happened just before 6 p.m. local time.”

In the second article, the Live Science staff wrote: “An ‘exceptionally rare, ‘quadruple’ solar flare just exploded from four different points of the sun’s surface at almost the exact same time. The components of this interconnected, explosive tetrad may have also launched a solar storm toward Earth – which could potentially slam into our planet in the coming days.”

And Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places, like Oklahoma, there will be famines and earthquakes.”

And Jesus also said, in Luke 21:25, 26: “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

As I have said before to my dear brothers and sisters in Christ: “Stay tuned and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.” And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Thank You, Jesus! Glory to God! Blessings with love, Doug (5/4/24)

QUAKES & FEAR!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny and cool (51 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk in the light, I saw: 14 robins, 5 deer, 2 grackles, a bunny and a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

Yesterday, I wrote to you about 11 “moderate” (5.0-5.9) earthquakes, including 5 in Alaska, and a “light” (4.1) quake in Orange County, California.

And, get this, this morning, I read of a “moderate” (5.0) earthquake, 211 km WSW of Tofino, British Columbia (population: 1,876, as of 2010) in the Vancouver Island Region where, I am told by the so-called “experts,” that a “great” (8.0+) earthquake in that area could potentially wipe out the entire west coast of Canada and the United States! So, stay tuned and keep an eye on the west coast for any further activity of earthquakes in the days and weeks to come.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are certainly exciting and scary times in which we live. And yet, the Lord tells us over and over again in His Word ( Matthew 14:27; 17:7; 28:10; Mark 5:36; 6:50; Luke 6:20; 12:4; John 14:27; Luke18:9; John 6:20; 14:27: “Do not be afraid.” He even said the same to Paul in Acts 18:9. And, even Peter wrote, in I Peter 3:14: “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account of the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence (I Peter 3:14, 15).” And, for the unbelievers out there who might be reading this, please, before it is too late, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven!

And, if you are already a believer in Jesus, simply watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/3/24)

MODERATE & OTHER QUAKES!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly cloudy/partly sunny and 53 degrees Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: a deer and a robin! Thank You, Jesus!

This morning when I went to the USGS website, I noticed there had been, over the last 24 hours, 11 “moderate” (5.0-5.9) earthquakes in Alaska (5), the South Sandwich Islands (3), Papua New Guinea, Peru and Vanuatu! In addition, there was also a “light” (4.1) earthquake which struck Orange County, California Wednesday afternoon. According to the USGS, “shaking was reported in a large swath of Southern California ranging as far as Chula Vista to the south, Indio to the east, Ridgecrest to the north and Simi Valley to the west.” Stay tuned and remember, Jesus said there would be “earthquakes in various places” before He returns to the earth. Then, He gave us another clue when He said, the earthquakes and the other “signs” of His return which He listed in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 would increase like “birth pains” (Matthew 24:8). In other words, as we get closer to His return, the “signs of His return” will increase in frequency and intensity.

I like to think (and I could be wrong) that we are currently living in the “first trimester” of the birth pains. Stay tuned! And, if you are a believer in Jesus, keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven, if not sooner! Love in Christ, Doug (5/2/24)

TAYLOR SWIFT!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny, windy and cool (61 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 8 robins, 6 deer, half a moon and “Barkie the Dog!” Thank You, Jesus!

This recent (4/26/24) headline, from “The Christian Post,” got my attention: “Taylor Swift’s new album draws criticism from Christian leaders who say it mocks God, Christians.”

In the article, Nicole VanDyke reported: “Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department , has garnered criticism from faith leaders who have taken to social media this week to express their distaste with the lyrical content that they believe mocks God and Christians. Released last Friday, critics have voiced concern over lyrics that seem to suggest that Christians are both hateful and judgmental.”

As a pastor for some 40+ years, I have seen a lot of people come and go, with and without faith. And, I can see where some outside of faith in Christ would look upon Christians as “hateful and judgmental.” Let me remind you that not everyone who says he or she is a “Christian” is a true follower of Christ. In fact, Jesus said, in Matthew 7:13, 14, “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction (hell), and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life (heaven), and few are those who find it.”

Jesus also said, in Matthew 5:43, 44: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” And so, as Christians, we are called by Jesus Himself to love and pray for Taylor Swift that she would recognize her sin and need of a Savior (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe Jesus died on a cross for her sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all her sins and give her eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/1/24)

MAD & SAD!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (48 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw and heard: 8 robins! Thank You, Jesus!

This 4/29/24 headline from Reuters really got my attention this morning and made me mad and sad: “GOP senator slams ‘exploding’ cost to US of building Gaza aid pier.”

In the article, the Reuters staff reported: “The US military’s cost estimate to build a pier off Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid has risen to $320 million, a US defense official and a source familiar with the matter tell Reuters. The figure, which has not been previously reported, illustrates the massive scale of a construction effort that the Pentagon has said involves about 1,000 US service members, mostly from the Army and Navy. Still the cost has roughly doubled from initial estimates earlier this year, according to a person familiar with the matter.

“The cost has not just risen. It has exploded,” Senator Roger Wicker, the top Republican on the Democratic-led Senate Armed Services Committee, tells Reuters when asked about the costs. This dangerous effort with marginal benefit will now cost the American taxpayers at least $320 million to operate the pier for only 90 days.

Wicker and some other lawmakers (and me) have questioned whether the pier is a worthwhile endeavor, particularly given the risk that US military personnel could become targets of Hamas terrorists.” Note: In my opinion, this is just one more sign of a “weak administration” which will, once again, be putting our troops in harm’s way, which I also believe (and I could be wrong) will, one day, result in the USA no longer being a superpower.

I also believe (and I could be wrong) that, based on the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39, Russia, Iran and a host of other nations will, at sometime in the future, when Israel is living in peace (not now), will attack Israel to “take a spoil from the Israelis, only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself which will open the door for the “kings from the east” (China, North Korea and others) to march to Megiddo for another war, only to be destroyed by the Lord Jesus Himself when He returns to the earth to set up His kingdom for, I believe (not all Christians do)1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-7).

P.S. I hope I haven’t given you too much to chew on. If so, and you have questions, please let me know. Please also know I am thankful for you and your faithful support. And, if you are reading this as an unbeliever, please consider becoming a believer in Jesus by simply agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Then, watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (4/30/24)

EARTHQUAKES & TORNADOS!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and warm (56 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 5 robins, a deer and a dog. Thank You, Jesus!

These headlines got my attention this morning:

#1. “Earthquake of magnitude 6.5 strikes Japan’s Bonin Islands (USGS). Earthquake of 6.0 in the Mid-Indian Ridge region. Both of these quakes would be classified as “strong” (6.0-6.9) quakes.

#2. Tornadoes tear across America’s heartland, leaving catastrophic destruction in multiple states. (Fox News. Com).

Fox News reported: “Dozens of tornados swept across America’s heartland, impacting millions of residents and leaving a trail of of destruction. Twenty million Americans, from Texas to Iowa, are on alert for twisters, large hail and up to 70 mph winds. There were at least 59 reported tornadoes across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa as of 7 p.m. ET, according to the National Weather Service.”

Keep in mind: Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7, 8 that, before His return, there will be “earthquakes in various places” which, like “birth pains,” will increase in frequency and intensity,” as we get closer to His return. So, stay tuned and watch for more intense storms (Luke 21:25, 26) and earthquakes as we get closer to the Lord’s return. P.S. As, I look out my window right now, it seems to be getting darker. Stay tuned, as the weather forecasters are saying we could be in for some strong storms.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are exciting and scary times in which we live. But, as believers in Jesus, we are not to be afraid because the Lord promised, in Matthew 24:20, to “be with us even to the end of the age.” Thank You, Lord! And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please know you are on your way to an eternal hell. However, you can change that right now by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Love, Doug (4/27/24)

SLEEPING PASTORS & CHURCHES!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and mild (54 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 6 deer and 5 robins! Thank You, Jesus!

This morning, as I usually do, after my devotions and a 2.1 mile walk, I read my emails, one of which was from a dear brother in Christ who, several months ago, helped me put together a Bible Prophecy Conference for the area in which we live, called: “What in the World Is Going On?”

Today’s article was written by Pastor David Bowen who is the Teaching Evangelist for Lamb and Lion Ministries. His headline: “The Churches Are Sleeping: When Did the ‘WOKE’ Pulpits Become the Norm?”

Pastor Bowen began his article by quoting from II Thessalonians 2:3 where Paul wrote: “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it (the day of the Lord’s judgment) will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness (the antichrist) is revealed, the son of destruction.” By the way, Jesus Himself warned His disciples about this coming apostasy in Matthew 24:10, saying, “And at that time many will fall away (apostasia in the Greek) and will deliver up one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and mislead many.”

Sadly, many Christians today, if they are Christians, are not grounded in the whole of Scripture and, as a result, can be easily deceived by our enemy, the devil, who according to I Peter 5:8, “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” Then, in the next verse (9), Peter tells us what to do: “But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.”

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! But, so is the Antichrist. Question: “Would you be able to tell the difference between the two?” You should be, if you are truly “born again” and have the Spirit of the living God in you to discern truth from lies. Remember, Jesus is the TRUTH (John 14:6) and Satan is “a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).”

Question, “Did you know that the man who became known as “America’s pastor,” Rick Warren, in one of his “Purpose Driven” books, quoted Jesus as saying to His disciples, “Prophecy is none of your business.” Really? 30% of Scripture is none of our business?’ Not according to Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:6 and Revelation 22:18, 19 which tell us that we are not to “add to or take away from” the Word of God. Please let me know if you have any questions about Bible prophecy. And, I will try to answer them, solely based on the Word of God. Oh, I almost forgot. If you are not a believer in Jesus, you can become one right now by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Then, watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love, Doug (4/17/24)

FIRST TRIMESTER?

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny, clear and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 10 deer! Thank You, Jesus!

Those of you, who have been following my blog, know that I have been charting earthquakes for some time (about 18 years). And, as I have been watching them, I have noticed that, on any given day, most of the quakes fall into the “moderate” (5.0-5.9) category. For example, yesterday there were 6 “moderate” quakes around the world. Today, there were 8 “moderate” quakes.

Now, keep in mind that Jesus said that one of the “signs,” leading up to His return, would be: “earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:7, Mark 13:8). And, He also said, in Matthew 24:8, these would occur like “birth pains,”

So, in light of the fact that a woman’s pregnancy, for the most part, has been divided up into “three trimesters,” I have come up with the idea (and I could be wrong), that the so-called “seven-year tribulation” period could also be divided up into three trimesters. And, if I am right, then the frequency and intensity of the “signs/pains” will increase in frequency and intensity. And, in case you didn’t know, the Richter Scale has divided up earthquakes into 7 different categories: “very minor (2.0-2.9), “minor” (3.0-3.9), “light” (4.0-4.9). “moderate” (5.0-5.9). “strong” (6.0-6.9), “major” (7.0-7.9) and “great “8.0+). And, if you dare, check out the “greats” which John told us about in Revelation 6:12; 11:13; ,16:18-21.

And, one more thought before I go. Max Obeidin and Bill Koenig draw a parallel between today’s eclipse and a possible “Major New Madrid Earthquake if America facilitates a two-state agreement that divides Israel.” Sadly, much of Israel, that is the Jewish people, have rejected Jesus as their Messiah and Savior and will suffer the consequences of that, as we read in Zechariah 14:7-9: “Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, and against the man, My Associate,” Declares the Lord, of hosts. “Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones. And it will come about in all the land,” declares the Lord, “that two parts in it will be cut off and perish; But the third will be left in it. And I will bring the third part through the fire, Refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are My people,’ And they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.'”

Yes, dear friends, Jesus is coming! Questions: “Do you know Him as your Messiah, Savior and Lord?” Have you agreed with God You are a sinner Who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (I Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16). If so, then you are on your way to heaven. So, report for duty and watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love and prayers, Doug (4/8/24)
