Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy/sunny and warm (56 degrees) Wisconsin where I did not go for a walk and, Lord willing, will be preaching this morning. Thank You, Jesus!

Now, if you’re like me, you probably have never heard of BRICS before. According to Google, it is an acronym coined to associate five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Since 2009, the governments of the BRICS states have met annually at formal summits. China hosted the most recent 14th BRICS summit on July 24, 2022 virtually.” And get this, “The BRICS mechanism aims to promote peace, security, development and cooperation.”

This reminded me of Jeremiah 6:13-14 where the prophet wrote: “For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is greedy for gain, and from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely. They have healed the brokenness of my people superficially, saying ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.”

Remember, Russia and a host of other nations will, one day in the future, when Israel is living in peace, invade Israel to take some kind of a “spoil” from the Israelis, only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself (Ezekiel 38-39). And, the “kings from the east” (Revelation 16:12-16) which may include China and India, along with many other nations, will march to Megiddo for battle, only to also be destroyed by the Lord Himself (Revelation 19:11-21).

Then, the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, will return to the earth to set up His kingdom where there will be true peace! I can’t wait! But, wait I must while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and warm (54 degrees) Wisconsin where on my morning walk under clear skies, I saw the heavens declaring the glory of God and a deer. Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from yesterday’s Technocracy News and Trends, caught my prophetical eye this morning: “Big Pharma Is Putting All of Humanity At Risk Of Demographic Collapse.”

In the article, the TN Editor reported: “Stillbirths, vaginal hemorrhaging, miscarriages, preeclampsia, premature births, inability to conceive, reduced sperm count in men, etc., are reaching an existential tipping point. And yet, Big Pharma, government and media continue to promote the mRNA injections for pregnant women. With the refusal to stop the program, it is revealing itself as a major bioweapon attack on humanity.”

Some of you know I have written a book, “Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy” in which I listed 8 “signs” Jesus gave His disciples which would lead up to His return. One of the “signs” was “false Christs.” And, in that chapter, I quoted from a 2020 article by William Koenig: “Bill Gates – Messiah or Exterminator?” In the article, Koenig wrote: “Bill Gates has a strange image of himself. He see himself as the “Messiah that saves the world through vaccination and population reduction.”

Did you get that? Gates wants to save the world through “vaccination and population reduction.” And, based on the previous article from Technocracy News, it sounds like the “vaccines” are reducing the population big time!

So, what are we to do? As Christians, we are to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, I might add, we should be studying our Bibles like “Bereans,” to discern truth from error (Acts 17:11). And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please know He is coming and will either be your Savior or Judge. So, please, I beg you, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy, sunny and cool (41 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw a sliver of the moon and heard an owl hooting! Thank You, Jesus, I am able to see and hear!

This headline, from EarthSky, really got my attention this morning: “Mississippi River hits record low levels.” The article got my attention because, a couple of years ago, I was the interim pastor of the Living Water Bible Fellowship in Guttenberg, Iowa which is right on the Mississippi and where I often walked on a path next to the Mississippi for exercise.

Scott Martin reported: “The Mississippi River reached record low levels this week, lower in some areas than at any time since records began being kept in 1954. Indeed, as of October 18, 2022, the Mississippi River had hit a record low of -11.1 feet (-3.4 meters) at Memphis, Tennessee. In fact, the National Weather Service said that the water levels from Cairo, Illinois to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were so low that – commercial activities such as barge traffic and riverboats were experiencing difficulty navigating portions of the river.” Note: I saw pictures of people walking and driving cars on some of the dry portions of the river which normally would be totally under water.

Here’s another sad, disturbing and, perhaps prophetical, headline from Technocracy News: “Court Orders CDC to Release Data Showing 18 Million Vaccine Injuries in America.” In the article, the TN Staff wrote: “America was warned by top medical professionals, scientists and even TN that these shots were harming millions of people in America and around the world. The truth will now come out and all who took the shots must strive to build up their immune system and detox their bodies. The long-term effects will take a huge toll.

Instead of alerting the public to the incredible dangers of these shots and completely shutting down (President) Joe Biden’s mass vaccination mandates, the CDC covered up the info until it was forced to release it. Everyone in a position of authority at the CDC should be fired for this. What good is a ‘public health agency,’ if it fails to alert the public that 8% of vaccine recipients are being hospitalized.”

Yes, blog readers, we have been and are still being duped by our government and so-called “health authorities” into “following the science,” to serious injuries and even death. And yet, despite the protests of some doctors, nurses and other health professionals, many people are still lining up to get not only their COVID shots, but others which the government tells you are “safe and effective.” And, let me remind you, the vaccines are not true vaccines, but “experimental gene therapies,” straight from the “father of lies and the murderer, the devil himself (John 8:44), a sign that Jesus’ coming is near which, sadly, most Christians don’t seem to be too excited about. And, I often wonder, “What will it take to get people, even Christians, to wake up? Paul reminds us, in Ephesians 5:15-17, “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time because the days are evil (and, I might add, getting more so all the time). So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

And, what is the will of the Lord for Christians? I call it the 6 WS: Watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (33 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 3 deer (a doe and her two fawns) who stared at me, then ran off between the houses! Thank You, Jesus, for Your creation!

And, speaking of creation, I was deeply grieved over this headline in The Federalist: “Biden Tells DNC He’ll Sign Legislation Legalizing Abortion All the Way to Birth!” Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Talk about “spitting in the face of God.” This made me think back to Genesis 6:5, 6 where Moses recorded: “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” And, as a result, the Lord sent a flood to kill all those on the earth, except for Noah and his family who, in faith, got into the ark and were saved.

One thing I have learned over the 72 years I have lived on this earth is that God is a patient and loving God Who, according to Ezekiel 18:23 and 32, “takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but is pleased when they turn from their ways and live.”

And, I have also learned that God has limits. Personally I believe we, as a nation and world, are getting closer and closer to the so-called “Day of the Lord” when God will judge the earth and the “wicked,” that is, anyone who has not been saved by God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8, 9; I Corinthians 15:1-4).

Question: “What do you know about the “Day of the Lord?” I am guessing most of you have not heard of it, but should know it is coming. Jesus described it as “the worst time in human history,” (Matthew 24:21) while the prophet Zephaniah, in 1:14-18, gave us more of the specifics:

“Near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming quickly; Listen, the day of the Lord! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. A day of wrath is that day, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and the high corner towers. I (the Lord) will bring distress on men so that they will walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the Lord; and their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord’s wrath; and all the earth will be devoured in the fire of His jealousy, for He will make a complete end, indeed a terrifying one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.”

Mr. President, please know I am praying for you and all our leaders, their families and advisers, first and foremost, for your and their salvation (I Timothy 2:1-6) which is based solely on God’s grace through faith in Christ, His death, burial and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8, 9; I Corinthians 15:1-4) and not by works (going to church, being baptized, confirmed, taking communion, joining a church, saying prayers). And, secondly, I pray that you will rule wisely by the Word of God. Please know Jesus is coming and He will either be your Savior or Judge. Here are some scary and, perhaps prophetic, headlines from this morning’s news:

#1. Air Force warplanes intercept a pair of Russian bombers near Alaska (Fox News.com)

#2. Iran inks deal to supply Russia with ballistic missiles, more drones (Times of Israel)

#3. Ukraine FM: “We will formally ask Israel for air defense assistance” (Times of Israel)

Wow! Wow! Wow! Those of us who have been studying Bible prophecy know that, at some time in the future, Russia, Iran (headline #2) and a host of other nations will be led by the Lord away from a war (headline #3?) to invade a defenseless Israel to “capture spoil and to seize plunder.” And, just when it looks like Israel is doomed and Russia and her allies will get what they want and need, the Lord God Himself will come to Israel’s rescue and destroy this massive army (Ezekiel 38-39).

And, as I have said before, when Russia and her allies invade Israel, no one comes to her defense which makes me think (and I could be wrong) that headline #1 may have something to do with it.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, Jesus is coming! And, as I have said before, I believe we could actually see Bible prophecy fulfilled in our lifetime. So, stay tuned and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, windy and cool (32 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I once again cut it short because of the wind and did not see any of God’s creatures! Thank You, Jesus, for keeping me safe!

This headline, from the AP, caught my eye this morning: “Australia drops recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.” So, you might ask, “What’s the big deal?” Well, let me tell you.

We are told by Dr. Luke, in Luke 13:34, that Jesus, before He went to the cross to die for our sins, wept over Jerusalem, saying, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it.”

Sadly, the majority of the Jewish people, including their religious leaders, who, from their Scriptures, particularly Isaiah 53, as well as Jesus’ miracles, should have recognized Him as their Messiah and Savior. But, many of them did not and even voted to have Him crucified (Matthew 27:11-26). Then, following His death and resurrection, Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, where He will return when He sets up His kingdom on earth (Zechariah 14:1-21). And yet, sadly, according to Zechariah 13:7-9, only one third of the Jews will recognize Jesus as their Messiah and Savior and enter His kingdom. Keep reading Zechariah 14 and you will see how important Jerusalem will be not only to the Jews, but also to the Gentiles, that is, all the believers in Jesus.

Oh, and one more thing, if the Lord hasn’t taken you out in the “Rapture,” look for the prophet Elijah to come “before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord” (Malachi 4:5). And, if you haven’t already done so, believe in Jesus as your Savior so that you not only will enter His kingdom on earth, but also an eternity with Him. And, to my fellow believers in Jesus, “stay on the alert” (Mark 13;33, 35, 37) while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. Good morning, blog readers, from snowy, windy and cold (34 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk which was cut short by a gusty, westerly wind, I did not see any of God’s creatures!

The following headlines, from this morning’s news, were, once again sad, but not surprising based on the Word of God:

#1. Waves of suicide drones strike Ukraine’s capital, 3 killed (AP)

#2. Iran reportedly set to ship ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine (The Times of Israel)

#3. In a letter to North Korea’s Kim, China’s Xi calls for communication, unity and cooperation (Reuters)

In the first article, Sabra Ayres and Justin Spike reported: “Waves of explosive-laden suicide drones struck Ukraine’s capital Monday (today), setting buildings ablaze and sending people scurrying for shelter or attempting to shoot down the kamikazes – a week after Russia unleashed its most widespread strikes against the country in months.”

In the second article, Michael Horovitz and the AFP (Agence France-Presse) staff wrote: “Iran is planning to ship missiles and drones to boost Russia’s dwindling supplies amid their invasion of Ukraine, according to a US media report on Sunday.”

And, in the third article, the Reuters Staff said: “In a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ahead of a historic congress of the ruling Chinese Communist Party, Chinese President Xi Jinping said it was more important than ever that Beijing and Pyongyang enhance communication, unity and cooperation, North Korea’s state media reported on Sunday.”

Now, whether you agree with me or not is not important. What is important is that you agree with God Who, I believe, has given us some clues in His Word how certain things are going to happen before Jesus returns.

First, based on Psalm 83, I believe (and I could be wrong) there will be another war between Israel and her Muslim neighbors which Israel will win decisively, allowing her to live “securely without walls, bars or gates” which has never happened since Israel became a nation in 1948.

Then, I believe (and I could be wrong) Russia, Iran, Ethiopia, Libya, Turkey, perhaps Germany, and a host of other nations will invade Israel “to capture spoil and to seize plunder (Ezekiel 38:10-17).” The result: The Lord God destroys Russia and her allies (18-39:29)!

Next, I believe that, after the so-called “rapture of the church” (I Thessalonians 4:13-17), the antichrist will be revealed and sign a seven-year “peace treaty with “the many” in Israel (not all the Jews which will probably allow them to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem (Daniel 9:27) and restart their temple sacrifices for 3 and 1/2 years until he (antichrist) goes into the temple, sacrifices a pig on the altar, stops the Jewish sacrifices and declares to the world he is god and alone to be worshiped with the death penalty for all who resist him (Revelation 13). Then, the “kings from the east” (Revelation 16:12-16) which, most likely will include China, North Korea and others, will march to Megiddo, along with the other surviving nations of the world, only to be destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ Who will then set up His kingdom on earth. Glory to God! I can’t wait!

Now, as I said before, this is what I believe, based on my understanding of the Word of God. Other Christians see it differently. Hopefully, we can all agree Jesus is coming. And, as a result, we need to be watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Him until He comes.

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe Jesus died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (I Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (38 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 6 deer! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from the Times of Israel , really got my attention this morning. In the article, Jacob Magid wrote: “The White House issued a rare, public rebuke of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday, after the latter publicly dismissed US efforts to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and indicated that Ramallah prefers that Russia play a more central role as a mediator while sitting alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

And so, the question: “Who do you trust?” First of all, I do not trust President Biden, President Putin, President Abbas, former President Trump or any leader who is not truly “born-again,” that is, saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8, 9; I Corinthians 15:1-4). And, because Jesus is the only One Who is trustworthy, I trust Him above all human beings. I like what King David said about this in Psalm 31:13-19,

“I have heard the slander of many, terror is on every side; while they took counsel together against me, they schemed to take away my life. But, as for me, I say, ‘Thou art my God.’ My times are in Thy hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant; save me in Thy lovingkindness. Let me not be put to shame, O Lord, for I call upon Thee; let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol (the grave). Let the lying lips be dumb, which speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt. How great is Thy goodness which Thou has stored up for those who fear Thee, which Thou hast wrought for those who take refuge in Thee.”

And, King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 3:5, 6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

And so, I would beg you, as believers in Jesus, to keep your eyes “fixed on Him (Hebrews 12:2) and, as unbelievers, to trust Jesus to be your Savior. Blessings, Doug (10/16/22). Happy birthday, John!

For those of us that grew up in the 50s, we remember the popular TV show “Superman” starring George Reeves where, at the beginning of the program, the people said: “Look; Up in the sky; it’s a bird; it’s a plane; it’s Superman!”

And then, I saw this headline from Space.com: “Astronomers just spotted the most powerful flash of light ever seen!”

The article said: “The so-called gamma-ray burst, the most energetic type of electromagnetic explosion known to exist in the universe, was first spotted by telescopes Sunday (October 9).

Today, I am rushed for time because I am teaching a Bible study on II Thessalonians 3. If you get a chance, open your Bibles to Matthew 24:26-30 and you will read about the greatest “light show” ever; the return of Jesus Christ in power and glory. I can’t wait! Got to go. #1. More Manmade Pandemics Are Coming (The Defender)!

#2. It’s a very serious situation: Putin’s nuclear threat ratchets up tension (Boston Globe)!

#3. Russia-Ukraine War: With Russia expected to soon carry out large scale drills of its nuclear forces, as President Vladimir Putin threatens to use them, the United States and its allies will be challenged to ensure they can spot the difference between exercises and the real thing (Reuters)!

#4. “North Korea fired another short-range ballistic missile into the sea and hundreds of artillery rounds near the border with the South on Friday (today),” South Korea’s military said, the latest military activity by the nuclear-armed country amid heightened tensions (Reuters)!

#5. How Cancer Deaths from the COVID Jabs Are Being Hidden (Dr. Joseph Mercola)!

#6. The Defender: “No Data, No Independent Review. Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D, called Wednesday’s decision by U.S. public health officials to authorize the untested vaccines for young children ‘preposterous,’ adding ‘It is time to stop this criminal experiment on America’s children!'”

Let me remind you that Satan (aka, the devil), in Jesus’ own words, (John 8:44) is “a liar, a murderer and the father of lies. ” And, all of the above headlines and articles speak of this. And yet, sadly, most people in this world and country, including many Christians, have bought into his lies because they are not spiritually mature and able to discern his lies from the Truth, that is, Jesus (John 14:6).

As I have said before, Jesus has given us a number of “signs” to look for before His return: “False Christs, prophets and miracles, wars and rumors of war, nations against nations, kingdoms against kingdoms, famines and earthquakes in various places, persecution of the believers in Jesus, even unto death, apostasy in the church, and an increase in lawlessness” (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21). And, like “birth pains,” these signs will increase in “frequency and intensity.” So stay tuned! And if you are not a believer in Jesus, time is of the essence: agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).
