Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and damp (58 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: a deer! Thank You, Jesus!
Here are a couple of interesting and, perhaps prophetical, headlines from yesterday’s news:
#1. Zelensky says Russian-Iran alliance wouldn’t have happened had Israel helped Ukraine (LIVEBLOG)
#2. Report: Israel behind Damascus blasts (Jewish News Syndicate)
In the first article, the LIVEBLOG staff reported: “Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky tells an Israeli conference that Russia wouldn’t have been collaborating militarily with Iran if Jerusalem hadn’t decided not to send military aid to Kyiv.” The Russian alliance would not have happened if Israeli leaders had agreed to help protect Ukraine’s skies, he tells a conference organized by the Haaretz daily, speaking on video. Zelensky adds that the Moscow-Tehran alliance will likely see Russia help Iran develop its nuclear program in exchange for the drones supplied by the Islamic Republic.”
In the second article, the JNS staff wrote: Syrian state media on Monday attributed several explosions in Damascus to the Israeli Air Force, though according to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the cause of the blasts was still being investigated. It was the second alleged Israeli strike on the Syrian capital in the past few days, after Syria’s Defense Ministry reported on Friday that air defenses had intercepted Israeli missiles over the city and its suburbs.”
Whether the above accounts are true or false, one thing is very clear: all four of the above players (Russia, Iran, Syria and Israel) are mentioned in Bible prophecy. You can see for yourself in Isaiah 17:1 (Damascus), Psalm 83 (Assyria) and Ezekiel 38 and 39 (Russia and Iran), all of whom will destroyed either by God or Israel’s “exceedingly great army (Ezekiel 37:10).”
I also need to tell you that the apostle Paul, a Jewish believer in Jesus, wrote, in Romans 9:6, “not all Israel is Israel” (Romans 9:6) which means that many of the Jews of today and the future will continue to reject Jesus as their Messiah and Savior and will not enter His kingdom when He comes. The prophet Zechariah, in 13:8, 9, wrote: “It will come about in all the land,” declares the Lord, “that two parts in it will be cut off and perish; but the third will be left in it. And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my Name, and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, the Lord is my God.'”
Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, we might live to see some of Bible prophecy fulfilled. And, how exciting would that be for us, as believers in Jesus! Regardless of whether we or not, our mission remains the same: Watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, I beg you, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, thank you for praying for my tests which went smoothly. Blessings, Doug (10/25/22)
