Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, warm (36 degrees) and windy Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I did not see any of God’s creatures, but was thankful I could still walk. Thank You, Jesus!

Many of you who are watching the news are probably aware that the death toll from the “major” (7.8) earthquake in Turkey and Syria has now killed more than 5,000 people. And, then, there are the aftershocks: By my count: 16 “moderate” (5.0-5.9) and 61 “light” (4.0-4.9) quakes along with, I am guessing, a large number of “minor” (3.0-3.9) and smaller quakes.

I find it interesting and, maybe prophetical, that Turkey (Togarmah and Gomer in Ezekiel 38:6) are listed as allies of Russia when she, perhaps under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, go down to Israel to “take a spoil,” only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself (38:18-39:29).

Then, there is the prophecy of Isaiah 17:1 where the prophet wrote: “The oracle concerning Damascus (the capital of Syria). Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city, and it will become a fallen ruin.” I used to think that the Lord would destroy Damascus with an Israeli nuke; now, I am thinking, based on this recent earthquake and its aftershocks, the Lord could also use a “great” (8.0+) quake to do the same thing.

Then, there’s Russia which I believe (and I could be wrong), based on the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39, will be destroyed by the Lord God Himself. And finally, I also believe (and I could be wrong), the Lord Jesus will destroy China, and the other “kings from the east” at Megiddo, according to Revelation 16:12-16. All I can say is: “Stay tuned!” We might just see some of the above prophecies fulfilled in our lifetime.

So, if you are still an unbeliever, please know you are on your way to an eternal hell, but God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. And, all you have to do is: agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (24 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 2 deer and a bunny! Thank You, Jesus!

If you have watched the news this morning, I am sure you have heard about the two “major” (7.5 and 7.0) earthquakes in Turkey which have killed more than 1,500 in Turkey and Syria. According to the USGS, in addition to the above quakes, there were also: 2 “strong” (6.7, 6.0) quakes and 12 “moderate” (5.8, 5.8, 5.7, 5.7, 5.6, 5.5, 5.2, 5,2, 5.1, 5.0, 5.0, 5.0) quakes, plus a number of smaller quakes in the same area.

You might ask, “So, what’s the big deal? There have always been earthquakes all over the world for centuries. No surprise there.” And, while that is true, what Jesus said about them in relation to His return is very significant. In Matthew 24:7 and Mark 13:8, Jesus said: “There will be earthquakes in various places.” Then, in Matthew 24:8, He also said, “but all these things (false Christs, wars and rumors of war, famines, earthquakes, pestilence, an increase in lawlessness, apostasy in the church and the persecution of the believers in Jesus) are merely the beginning of birth pangs (pains).” And so, as “birth pains” in a pregnancy increase over time until the baby is born, so, too, will the “signs” Jesus gave us also increase in “frequency and intensity” right up to His return.

Oh, and one more thing: Dr. Luke, in his gospel (Luke 21:11), quoted Jesus as saying, “there will be great earthquakes” before His return. “Why is that significant,” you might ask? Because the USGS (United States Geological Survey) categorizes the largest of earthquakes as “great earthquakes” which, in case you didn’t know, is anything over an 8.0 on the Richter Scale. And, if you want to see what these look like, read Revelation 11:13 and 16:18.

And, if you are a believer in Jesus, “stay on the alert,” (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) by watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and witnessing for Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please swallow your pride and agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This headline, from the 2/1/23 Technocracy News and Trends, sadly but not surprisingly, got my attention this morning: “Metaverse: ChatGPT Tech Will Let You Talk to the Dead!”

In the article, the TN Editor wrote: “The digital likeness of your dead relative will be like a rudimentary digital twin that is constructed with discoverable information fed to the AI program. This would include scouring the Internet for social media posts, financial data, postings, travel information, voice patterns, etc. People who don’t understand the technology will undoubtedly believe they are really talking to dead people.

The ChatGPT setup that will allow you to speak to your dead relatives has been revealed. Sooner than later, you can engage in dialogue with the digital likeness of your loved one. If you save your voice, movement patterns, and personality traits onto Artur Sychov’s Live Forever mode, an AI chatbot will allow your surviving relatives to have a conversation with you in the metaverse after your death.”

By the way, I thought I should let you know, God, in His Word (Deuteronomy 18:9-12) said: “When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you.” Note: Just one more sign, in my opinion (and I could be wrong), Jesus’ coming will be sooner rather than later! Are you ready?

So, as believers in Jesus, our marching orders are the same: watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, pretty please, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This headline, from the January 28th Gatestone Institute, caught my eye this morning: “Biden Administration’s Total Disregard for Iran’s Protestors, Nuclear Threat.”

In the article, Majid Rafizadeh wrote: “Iran’s mullahs have made significant advances by tripling their nuclear program’s capacity to enrich uranium to 60%, a short step away from the 90% purity required to build a nuclear weapon. Iran is selling drones and other material; is Russia ‘paying’ for them by helping the mullahs complete their nuclear weapons undertaking? Just last week, the U.S. Department of State declared Iran ‘the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.’ This is the same State Department that had allowed the mullahs to brutally crack down on and kill their own people, deliver drones and other deadly weapons to their ally Russia, freely increase their influence in Latin America (where another so-called ‘weather balloon’ is now flying), and rapidly advance their nuclear weapons program.” I ask, “What will it take for the Biden Administration to finally help the young men and women of Iran who have been fighting so hard for their freedom?”

As I have said before, I believe this country is headed for judgment and, perhaps destruction, because of its anti God, anti Israel, anti life, pro abortion and pro homosexual policies and an administration which makes a mockery of God and His Word. Could it be the Chinese “weather” balloons are merely the beginning of the end of this country. Stay tuned!

Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy, sunny, windy and very cold (-7 degrees) Wisconsin where I cut my walk in half because of the cold. Thank You, Jesus, for warm clothing!

Now, many of you have probably heard about the Chinese spy balloon that has been flying over the United States for a couple of days. Apple News described this as “a brazen act just days ahead of a planned trip to Beijing by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Fighter jets were mobilized, but military leaders advised President Joe Biden against shooting the balloon down out of the sky for fear debris could pose a safety threat.” Just one more example of the “kings from the east” making their presence known on their way to “Armageddon” (Revelation 16:12-16).

And then, there was this “prophetical” headline from Israel: “Re-Establishing the Levitical Choir in Our Day.” The Temple Institute wrote: “We interrupt our series of posts describing the singing of the Levitical choir in the Holy Temple to announce that the Temple Institute has embarked upon a new and exciting project: establishing a Levitical choir today, involving professional training and performance in preparation for participating in the Divine service in the rebuilt Holy Temple, may it be soon!”

So, you might ask: “What’s the big deal about a choir and a holy temple?” Well, let me tell you. As many of you probably know, right now in Jerusalem, there is the Muslim “Dome of the Rock” sitting on the “Temple Mount.” But, at some time in the future, the Bible tells us there will be a Jewish temple on the Temple Mount. See Daniel 9:24-27 where the so-called “prince who is to come” or “antichrist” will make a seven-year “peace treaty” with “many” of the Jews (not all) which, I believe (and I could be wrong) will allow them to rebuild their temple and reinstitute their temple sacrifices. Daniel then tells us he (the antichrist) will break his “peace treaty” with the Jews after three and a half years, stop the temple sacrifices and, according to the apostle Paul in II Thessalonians 2:3, 4, go into the temple and declare that he alone is god and to be worshiped or face death (Revelation 13).

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! So, let us keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, time is running out! Don’t fall for the “peace- maker” who will bring a “false peace” to the earth and join you in hell for eternity. Simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). These morning headlines saddened, but not surprised, me:

#1. It’s Too Late for NATO to win the war against Russia … here’s why (Brighteon)

#2. Rep. McCaul on Air Force general’s prediction of 2025 war with China: ‘I hope he’s wrong … I think he’s right’ (FoxNews.com).

In the first article, the Brighteon staff reported: “While the prostituted propaganda media absurdly claims that Russia is retreating and NATO forces are winning the war in Ukraine, the truth is far more sobering: NATO has already lost the war with Russia. A land war with a major military power is a long drawn out slug fest that requires the sustained expenditure of enormous quantities of munitions: Artillery shells, rockets, missiles, small arms cartridges and so on. But the United States and NATO lack the commodities, the factories, the labor pool and the manufacturing infrastructure to build all those things. Based on admissions from weapons industry executives and experts, the United States would take 3-5 years just to expand munitions production, and it would take a decade to reconfigure supply chains to use domestic resources. Yet Russia is likely to launch its next major offensive in Ukraine in a matter of weeks, not months or even years. While the USA and NATO might be able to fight Russia in the year 2023, the war is happening right now in 2023. And NATO has already lost.”

In the second article, Ronn Blitzer wrote: “Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, weighed in on the prediction from four-star Air Force Gen. Mike Minihan, who warned his commanders to prepare for war with China in roughly two years’ time. Minihan predicted that fighting will come after China takes advantage of the U.S. being preoccupied with the 2024 election to take action against Taiwan, which will be focused on their elections next year as well. ‘I hope he’s wrong,’ McCaul told ‘Fox News Sunday’ host Shannon Bream. I think he’s right though, unfortunately.’ … Later in the program, House Armed Services Committee ranking member Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., disagreed with McCaul and Minihan’s assessment of possible war with China. ‘I want to be completely clear. It’s not only not inevitable, it’s highly unlikely,’ he said.”

So, who’s right? Well, I’m going with a third opinion: God’s! Let me remind you, from the prophetic Scriptures (Ezekiel 38-39) that, at sometime in the future, perhaps even in our lifetime, Russia will be drawn away from a war (Ukraine?), and go down to Israel with with a host of other nations to “take a spoil,” only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself. And, if you don’t believe me, read Ezekiel 38-39 and see for yourself. Then, according to Revelation 16:12-16, the so-called “kings from the east” which, I believe, will include China and North Korea will march to Megiddo, along with the other surviving armies of the world where they will be destroyed by the Lord Jesus when He returns to the earth to set up His kingdom. (Revelation 19:11-21). Stay tuned!

And, if you are a believer in Jesus, prepare for tougher times to come by keeping your focus on Him (Hebrews 12:2) while waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Him until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you can become one by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This headline, from yesterday’s Technocracy News, caught my eye this morning: “ChatGTP Is Coming For the World!” Now, if you’re like me, you would ask, “What is ChatGPT?” Here’s what the TN Editor had to say: “ChatGPT’s implied message: ‘Your time is almost up. If you really want to continue your reign as the dominant species on Earth, here’s your challenge. Try to control me and my kind, or step aside.’ Pandora’s box has been opened and will never be shut again. As a result, life on earth is about to change.”

The TN Editor continued: “As a journalist and commentator, I have closely followed the development of OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research lab founded by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and other prominent figures in the tech industry. While I am excited about the potential of AI to revolutionize various industries and improve our lives in countless ways, I also have serious concerns about the implications of this powerful technology.

One of the main concerns is the potential for AI to be used for nefarious purposes. Powerful AI systems could be used to create deepfakes (a type of AI used to create convincing images, audio and video hoaxes), conduct cyber attacks, or even develop autonomous weapons. These are not just hypothetical scenarios – they are already happening. We’ve seen instances of deepfakes being used to create fake news and propaganda, and the use of AI-powered cyberattacks has been on the rise in recent years.

If you aren’t worried yet, I’ll let you in on a little secret: The first three paragraphs of this column were written by ChatGPT, the chatbot created by OpenAI. You can add ‘columnist’ to the list of jobs threatened by this new technology.”

Dr. Joseph Mercola also recently wrote: “Silicon Valley is essentially fused with the national security state. Silicon Valley is now also entering into joint ventures with medical companies, and many of these ventures are financed by groups like In-Q-Tel, which is the CIA’s venture capital arm. There’s a concerted effort to frame transhumanism (You can be God!) which is really the new eugenics – as health care. Joint ventures involving Big Tech, Big Pharma and the security state typically focus on products and services that normalize and further the transhumanist agenda. Food and agriculture are also being tossed into the mix. The U.S. government has launched a ‘Food as Medicine’ program, which is yet another way for the government to seize control of the population. Food as medicine will be used to get you into their control system and keep you there.” All I can say is, “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Now, I’ve told you before, I believe (not all Christians do) in a “pre-trib rapture of the church.” But, along with that, I also believe we may live to see what I like to call a “first trimester of the “birth pains” which Jesus told His disciples about in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. And, while a lot of what I wrote about above is scary stuff, the Lord reminds us, as He did His disciples on numerous occasions, “do not to be afraid (Matthew 14:27, 17:7, 28:10; Mark 6:50, Luke 12:4, John 6:20, 14:27) for He is with us to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).”

So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, while we wait for the Lord’s return, let us also watch, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. This headline, from today’s Gatestone Institute, “Russian-Iranian Axis: Biden Administration Missing in Action?” is certainly prophetical and sad.

In the article, Judith Bergman reported: “Iran is now selling surface-to-surface missiles to Russia for use in its war on Ukraine – on the cusp of a reported ‘major Ukrainian offensive’ – in addition to the drones it has already been delivering, two senior Iranian officials and two Iranian diplomats told Reuters. In addition, Russia is offering Iran an unprecedented level of military and technical support that is transforming their relationship into a full-fledged defense partnership.

White House National Security Spokesperson, John Kirby, commented: “This is a full-scale defense partnership that is harmful to the international community.” When asked how Iran’s sale of drones and missiles impacts the Biden administration’s stance on the Iran nuclear deal, Kirby deflected the question.

At a time when Iranians are desperately risking their lives to free themselves of a vicious theocratic dictatorship, it would be equally impressive if the Biden Administration would stand firmly behind the protestors in their fight for liberty and human rights, values America has always professed to support. President Ronald Reagan did it with great success to aid the collapse of the Soviet Empire.”

It is obvious to me and, I suspect, to many other Americans, President Joe Biden is no “Ronald Reagan,” not even close. But, let me remind you again that God is sovereign; He raises up rulers and takes them down, according to Daniel 2:21. And, interestingly enough (one of my favorite expressions), as I have pointed out before (and I could be wrong), according to Ezekiel 38-39, the Lord God Himself will, at sometime in the future, draw Russia, Persia (Iran) and a host of other nations away from one battle (Ukraine?) to Israel to “capture spoil and to seize plunder” (38:12) with only a weak response from “Sheba (Saudi Arabia), Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish (Spain) with all its villages” which may include other European countries and the United States.

And so, I believe (and I could be wrong) the USA will either be weakened or destroyed by the time Russia and her allies invade Israel. And, as our country and the world (for that matter) continue to promote abortion, homosexuality, violence, war, alcoholism, drug abuse, lawlessness, idolatry and many different works-based religions, the Lord God Himself will, one day, intervene and say, “enough is enough” and judge the world through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who will, after the “worst time in human history” (Matthew 24:21, 22), return to the earth to set up His kingdom. Glory to God!

So, let me ask you: “When Jesus returns to the earth victoriously will you be with Him?” I know I will be, based on what He says in His Word since I have agreed with Him I am a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for my sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all my sins and give me eternal life (John 3:16). And, let me remind you, as a believer in Jesus, until He comes, we are to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Him. I can’t wait to see Him! How about you? Blessings, Doug (1/31/23)

I haven’t said much about earthquakes of late because there has not been much to report. However, I did notice an uptick in quakes in the U.S. over the last two days with a number (24) of “very minor” (2.0-2.9) and “minor” (3.0-3.9) quakes in 7 different states: Alaska (11), California (5), Hawaii (2), Nevada (2), New Mexico (2), Oklahoma (1) and Utah (1). Also, I found it interesting to read of a number of “quakes in various places” like Tofino, Canada (4.0) which is in the Vancouver Island Region and bears watching and in some unusual places (to me, that is) like near the coast of Syria (4.3), in the Mozambique Channel (4.8) and the Central Mediterranean Sea. And, remember Jesus said that earthquakes would occur like, “birth pains” (Matthew 24:8) which means that, as we get closer to the His return, they will increase in “frequency and intensity.”

So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. This headline, from a recent Fox NEWS.com article, really got my attention this morning: “Christianity in America is declining, but here’s why that gives this podcasting priest hope.”

In the article, Jon Raasch and Teny Sahakian reported: “The decrease in Americans identifying as Christian could prove to be ‘good news,’ a podcasting priest told Fox News.

Father Mike Schmitz told Fox News: “There’s something about that that is potentially hopeful because maybe for the first time in generations, we actually know where people are standing.” In 1990, 90% of U.S. adults raised Christian still identified that way in their 30s compared to just 65% in 2020, a September Pew Research Center poll found. Similarly, 31% of the people over 30 who were raised Christian identified as “religiously unaffiliated in 2020, compared to just 8% in 1990.

Schmitz continued: “If people are going to be honest about ‘here’s what I truly believe in,’ then we as a church can be honest and say, ‘okay, I can speak to that.'” The Roman Catholic priest rose to prominence in 2021 with the release of his podcast, the Bible in a Year, which ranks at the top of Apple’s Religion and spirituality charts.”

Pew predicted that if decline continues (note: and it will; the Bible calls it “apostasy” or “giving up the true faith” (II Thessalonians 2:3, 4), Christianity could become a minority religion (note: it is not a “religion,” but a “relationship with Christ Who died on a cross for our sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all our sins and give us eternal life (I Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16).

Before I close, let me remind you again that salvation (going to heaven) is solely by God’s grace through faith in Christ, His death, burial and resurrection and not by works (Ephesians 2:8, 9), such as baptism, confirmation, the sacraments, going to church, repetitious prayer, giving money to the church or any other good works. Jesus reminded us, in Matthew 7:13, 14, “Enter though the narrow gate (Christ alone); for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction (hell), and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” My prayer is that, if you haven’t already done so, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).
