Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (35 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw and heard my first robin of the season! What a blessing! Thank You, Jesus!
This recent headline from the JNS (Jewish News Syndicate) caught my eye this morning: “Alleged Israeli airstrikes shut down Aleppo airport.” In the article, the JNS Staff reported: “Alleged Israeli airstrikes shut down the airport in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo early on Tuesday morning, according to Syrian state media. There was no immediate reports of casualties. The Israeli Defense Forces did not comment on the report, in accordance with Jerusalem’s long-standing policy regarding specific foreign operations. However, the military has acknowledged in the past conducting hundreds of strikes on Iran-backed forces attempting to establish a foothold in Syria.”
So, you might wonder, “If this has been going on for some time, what’s the big deal?” Well, let me point you to two Scriptures: Psalm 83:8 where “Assyria (modern-day Syria) is mentioned as one of the countries which desire to “wipe Israel out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more” and Isaiah 17:1 where the prophet wrote: “The oracle concerning Damascus (the capital of Syria). “Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city and will become a fallen ruin.” And, since I believe God is telling us the truth, I also believe both of these prophecies will be fulfilled, maybe even in our lifetime. Stay tuned!
So, let me ask you a question: “Do believe God’s Word is ‘the whole truth and nothing but the truth?'” If you do, then, I trust you have already agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). If you haven’t, why not, right now, simply agree with God You are a sinner who needs a Savior and believe Jesus died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life. And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven. But, in the meantime, fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings, Doug (3/9/23)
