Good morning, blog readers, from foggy and cool (50 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 37 robins, 6 red-winged blackbirds, 4 grackles, 3 bunnies, 3 cranes, 3 doves, 2 ducks, 2 geese, a cardinal, a deer, a dog and got 2 waves from the truck drivers! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from today’s Prophecy News Watch, really got my attention: “Growing Concerns Over Massive Tsunami Potential for the West Coast.”

Michael Snyder of The American Dream, wrote: “There is much going on under the water than we realize. According to Newsweek, ‘over 19,000 new underwater volcanoes have been discovered,’ and we are being told that thousands more could still be found because most of our ocean floors have not been mapped yet. Could all this seismic activity be the reason why ocean temperatures have been rising so rapidly?”

Snyder continued: “Scientists are alarmed as sea temperatures stubbornly maintain record-breaking highs for more than a month, pushing the state of Earth’s oceans into unchartered territory. Starting in mid-March, data from the US National and Atmospheric Oceanic Administration (NOAA) leaps dramatically from earlier recordings. following lows of both Arctic and Antarctic sea ice this year.

As a consequence, a large number of ocean heat waves are emerging around the globe, putting untold pressure on wildlife. Something unusual caused ocean temperatures to jump ‘dramatically’ beginning in mid-March. Is it possible that we are being cooked from underneath? 50 miles off the coast of Oregon, scientists have discovered a giant hole that is ‘spewing hot liquid’ into the Pacific Ocean like a firehose. Experts are on high alert amid fears a crack at the bottom of the ocean could trigger an apocalyptic earthquake. The hole, just 50 miles off the coast of Oregon, is spewing hot liquid that scientists warn could spark a magnitude-nine earthquake with the potential to devastate the west coast.”

For those of you who follow my blog, you have been hearing me speak for years about the coming of “great” (9.0+) earthquakes before Jesus returns because He said, in Luke 21:8 that, among the “signs” leading up to His return, “there will be great earthquakes.” And, if you want to see what these will do, read Revelation 11:13 and 16:18.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are indeed exciting and scary times in which we live, as we see Bible prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes. As a result, I would encourage you to study the “signs” Jesus gave us in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, as part of your witness to unbelievers. They might mock you at first, but, hopefully, as the “signs” happen, they will want to know more about the Lord Jesus and find faith in Him as their Savior. This headline from last Friday’s “Christian Headlines,” got my attention this morning: ‘Our Nation Is in Trouble,’ Greg Laurie Says: It’s Time to Return to the Lord.

“America has turned from God and desperately needs another spiritual awakening,” author and pastor Greg Laurie says in a new video in which he encourages Christians to pray for the nation.” Laurie continued: “Our nation is in trouble now. We have so veered from the distinguished character of ‘Christian.’ We’ve forgotten these roots that this nation was built on … the soil of liberty.'”

So, let me (Doug) ask you, “Will there be “another spiritual awakening” in this country? My personal opinion (and I could be wrong) is “no!” Why do I believe that? Because both Jesus and Paul said that, before the Lord’s return, there will be a time of apostasy or falling away from the faith (Matthew 24:10 and II Thessalonians 2:1-4) which we are now seeing in the world, including America. In fact, in II Thessalonians 2:2, 3, Paul says that this apostasy will lead to the coming of the Antichrist.

Paul also said, in II Timothy 3:1-5: “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men/women as these.”

So, what did Paul advise the believers to do in light of all this apostasy? He wrote, in II Timothy 4:1-4: “I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, Who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come (and, I believe is now) when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.”

So, the next question is: “Do you believe we are living in the “last days” or “end times?” I do because the “signs” Jesus gave us, in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 are happening right before our eyes. And so, as believers in Jesus, we are to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, right now, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy/sunny and warm (63 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 29 robins, 4 deer, 3 doves, 3 ducks, 2 geese, a bunny, a cardinal, a crane, a finch and a grackle! Thank You, Jesus!

This sad and daily headline from Fox News really got my attention this morning and made me think again of Jesus’ coming: “Texas authorities confirm 8 dead in Allen Premium Outlets shooting near Dallas, several more injured.”

And, according to the news this morning, this was the 199th mass shooting in the U.S. this year, an average of 1.6/day. Many are asking, “Why are there so many mass shootings in the U.S.?” Here are some of the answers: the Pandemic, the guns, the lax laws and judges in certain states, poverty, hopelessness, the glorification of violence on TV, in the movies and online, and the killing of babies (abortion) just to name a few.

All of these can be summed up by one word: “Sin!” Paul wrote, in Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” In other words, we are born with a “sin nature” and have a propensity towards sin, the only solution to which is the Lord Jesus Christ Who died on a cross for our sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all our sins and give us eternal life (John 3:16).

Yes, dear friends, despite what the optimists say and believe, things are not going to get better; in fact, according to the Word of God, they are going to get worse and worse and worse until Jesus returns to judge and destroy His enemies and bring true peace on the earth. As I have said before, in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, Jesus gives us “warning signs” of what is to come, saying, in Matthew 24:12, “And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” Sounds to me like we’re already there, But, sadly, there’s more lawlessness to come. Now, if you’re like me, you have never heard of “Buffalo Soapstone” before. It is a CDP (Census Designated Place) in Matuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska which is part of the Anchorage, Alaska Metropolitan Statistics Area with a population of 1,021 (as of 2020) and where, you might have guessed, there was a “very minor” (2.6) earthquake.

In addition to this earthquake, I found the following headline from a recent (5/2/23) Technocracy News of interest and concern: “Godfather Of AI (Artificial Intelligence) Leaves Google to Warn of A.I. Dangers.”

In the article, the TN Editor reported: “Geoffrey Hinton is a legend in the A.I. world. He is not only having negative thoughts about what he has invented, but he is doing a complete reversal, saying that A.I. has the potential to destroy civilization and in multiple ways. He joins other top computer scientists in trying to slow down development and put guard rails on how A. I. should be used.

The ‘Godfather of Artificial Intelligence’ has sensationally resigned from Google and warned the technology could upend life as we know it. Geoffrey Hinton, 75, is credited with creating the technology that became the bedrock of A.I. systems like ChatGPT and Google Bard. But the Turing prize winner now says a part of him regrets helping to make the systems, that he fears could prompt the proliferation of misinformation and replace people in the workforce. He said he had to tell himself excuses like ‘if I didn’t build it, someone else would have’ to prevent himself from being overwhelmed with guilt. He drew comparisons with the ‘father of the atomic bomb,’ Robert Oppenheimer, who was reportedly distraught by his invention and dedicated the rest of his life to stopping its proliferation.

Speaking to the New York Times about his resignation, Hinton warned that in the near future, A.I. would flood the internet with false photos, videos and texts. These would be of a standard, he added, where the average person would ‘not be able to know what is true anymore.'”

That should not come as a surprise to those of us who have been studying Bible prophecy, as Jesus said, in Matthew 24:4, 5, “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, the very elect.”

Question: “And who is behind all the deceit and lies?” None other than “the liar and father of lies,” the devil (John 8:44). And, how do we keep ourselves from being deceived by the devil? By aligning ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Truth of His Word. See Ephesians 5:10-19.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, we are living in scary times which will probably get scarier. But, we can take comfort and find strength and hope in Jesus Who said to His disciples then and now, “And lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.” So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, “fix your eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) and continue to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Him until He comes.

And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, why not become one today and secure your eternity in heaven with Him by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Much to my surprise, but not to God, earthquake activity in the U.S. has been mostly “minor” of late. For instance, over the last 24 hours, there was a “minor” (3.3) quake in California, a “minor” (3.0) quake in Oklahoma, 4 “minor” (3.0, 3.4, 3.6, 3.7) quakes and 1 “light” (4.6) quake in Alaska. By comparison, there was a “strong” (6.2) quake in Japan and 3 “moderate” (5.6, 5.1 and 5.0) quakes in New Zealand, the Solomon Islands and Indonesia respectively.

On the other hand, there was this headline of concern from Reuters and the Algemeiner: “Iranian President in Damascus for First Visit Since Syrian War Began.” In the article, the two staffs reported: “Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met counterpart Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Wednesday in the first visit by an Iranian head of state since Syria’s War began in 2011, underlining close ties as Syrian relations with Arab states thaw.

With military and economic support from most of Syria from both Iran and Russia, Assad regained control of most of Syria from rebels that were backed by regional countries now seeking dialogue with him. Assad, speaking alongside Raisi welcomed ‘the development’ of ties between Tehran and Riyadh. Assad also stressed the importance of meetings between officials from Syria, Russia and Iran in Moscow.” A US State Department spokesperson said on Wednesday that the deepening of ties between Iran and Syria should be of great concern, not just to US allies, but to the world more broadly.”

Let me remind you again of the prophecies of Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38-39 and Isaiah 17:1. Psalm 83 tells of a future war between Israel and her Muslim neighbors, including Syria, who have vowed to “wipe Israel out as a nation that the name of Israel be remembered no more (verse 4).” That’s not going to happen, according to Isaiah 17:1 which speaks of Damascus, Syria being totally destroyed as a city, never to rise again. Also, in Jeremiah 31:35-37, the prophet tells us that, as long as there is the sun, the moon and the stars, there will always be an Israel. Then, there is the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 where the Lord Himself will, one day, destroy Russia, Iran, Turkey and a host of other nations who attack Israel to “take a spoil.” I believe (and I could be wrong), we could actually live to see some or all of these prophecies fulfilled. So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

This morning’s headline, from Technocracy News, was certainly a “wake-up call” of things to come: “WHO/’One Health’: The Global Takeover Of Everything!”

In the article, the TN Editor wrote: “The World Health Organization (WHO) is hopelessly compromised by Technocrat oligarchs like Bill Gates, and they intend to flip the world into a scientific dictatorship, aka Technocracy. This is the core of the coup d’etat that started with the Great Panic of 2020 and is designed for total global control. Technocracy’s war on humanity is viscous, mean spirited and dispassionate, and will stop at nothing to achieve its goals.”

And, there was this headline from yesterday’s Jewish News Syndicate: “Iran’s Raisi: ‘Israel’s first foolish step will be its last.'” The JNS staff reported: “Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday warned Israel not to take action against his country, stating that it was no match for the Islamic Republic. … ‘If the Zionist entity takes even ‘the smallest step’ against Iran, he said, ‘our first step will be to remove her. The first foolish step of the Zionist entity will be the last step.'”

So, who do you believe: The WHO, Bill Gates or President Raisi of Iran? A more important question might be: “What is the source for your answer? As I wrote in my book, “Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy,” Bill Gates sees himself as a Messiah figure who, along with the WHO (not the rock group), think they will save the world through vaccination. He is just one of many false Christs and false prophets who will appear on the earth during the so-called seven year “Tribulation,” the last 3 and 1/2 years of which Jesus, in Matthew 24:21, called “the worst time in human history.” You can even read about the “signs” leading up to Jesus’ return in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21.

Then, there is President Raisi of Iran who, along with most, if not all, of the Muslim countries of the world, would certainly like to “wipe Israel out as a nation that the name of Israel be remembered no more.” And, if you don’t believe me, read Psalm 83:1-8. Oh, and by the way, read Ezekiel 38-39 and you will see how the Lord God Himself, despite President Raisi’s threats against Israel, will draw Russia, Iran and a host of other nations down to Israel to “take a spoil,” only to be destroyed by the Lord Himself. And, one more Scripture about Israel (Jeremiah 31:35-37) where the Lord God tells us that, as long as there is a sun and a moon, there will be an Israel. But, He also tells us, in Zechariah 13:7-9, that, when the Lord Jesus comes to set up His kingdom on earth, only a third of the Jews will go into it. Why only a third? Because two-thirds of them will reject Jesus as their Messiah and Savior.

So, let me ask you: “Where do you stand with Jesus?” Please know He will either be your Savior or Judge. And, if you haven’t already done so, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This headline, from Lighthouse Trails, got my attention this morning: “Asbury Students, Professor Join Tony Campolo’s Pro-gay, Progressive Protege, Shane Claiborne, to Discuss ‘Revival’ in Viral Video.”

In the article, the LT Editors reported: “For those who are not familiar with the names Shane Claiborne and Tony Campolo, you may visit our research site and use the search engine to find ample information about both of them. They are part of the emergent/progressive/woke church. You may also wish to read the March 6th article, “Will ‘Revival’ in Christian Colleges Bring About a Generation of Mystics – With ‘Woke?'”

Out of curiosity, I went to Tony Campolo’s website and found the following quote: “Nowhere in the Hebrew Scriptures does it say ‘God is all powerful!'” Rather than believe what he said, I got out my Strong’s Concordance and looked up the word “powerful” and found in Psalm 29: 3, 4 these words from David: “The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders. The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is majestic.” That works for me.

Oftentimes, I hear Christians speak about the “coming revival” of the “end times.” Question: “Where does it say that in Scripture?” It doesn’t. In fact, Jesus said, in Matthew 24:10, “And at that time, that is, the time leading up to His return, many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another.” And, the apostle Paul also said, in II Thessalonians 4:1-4, “Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together with Him, that you may not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness (the antichrist) is revealed, the son of destruction.” Discernment.

Yes, brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to be like the Bereans who, according to Dr. Luke, in Acts 17:11, “were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” Discernment.

Every morning, when I begin to do my research for this blog, I am sadly amazed at all the “bad news” that is out there in the world, including this country. Here are just some of the headlines from this morning’s news:

#1. 7 Bodies Found During Search for Missing Oklahoma Teens.

#2. Treasury’s Yellen Says US Could Default as Soon as June 1.

#3. Former Atlanta Youth Pastor Is Added to the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

And on and on and on and on without any “good news” to report. And yet, when it comes down to it, the only “good news” to be found is in the Bible! But, in order to find the “good news,” you also have to read the “bad news” where Paul tells us, in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And, then, in the next verse (24), he gives us the “good news” – “being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”

I don’t know about you, but I just love that word “grace.” The apostle Paul did too as, according to my count, he used the word 83 times in his 13 letters (14, if you count Hebrews). In fact, if you read one of his testimonies in Philippians 3:1-14, you will see that, before he became a believer in Jesus, he was all about the Law, thinking his “good deeds,” including destroying the church of Jesus Christ, would land him in the front row of the kingdom of God. But then, when the Lord Jesus appeared to him, he recognized for the first time, he was a sinner who needed a Savior and was saved from his sins solely by God’s grace through faith in Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection (Ephesians 2:8, 9; I Corinthians 15:1-4).

So, how about you? Have you agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior (Jesus) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16)? If you have, then watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Good morning, blog readers, from snowy and cool (30 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, in a heavy-wet snow, I saw: 11 robins, 4 deer, a bunny, a dog and a grackle! Thank You, Jesus!

This morning-headline from the Gatestone Institute was both sad and, I believe, prophetic: “The Biden Administration’s Vacuum of Leadership.”

In the article, Majid Rafizadeh reported: “The vacuum of leadership can also now be seen in the Sudan conflict. The Biden administration has reportedly abandoned 16,000 US citizens in the country, who were left there to make ‘life or death decisions.'”

“You had President Xi in Moscow with Putin earlier this week. You have a China negotiating relations with some sort of normalization between Saudi Arabia and Iran is all evidence of a vacuum that’s been created. It’s a vacuum of American leadership. It’s one of the reasons why we need a strong, bold leader. We’re the leader of the free world. And, if America is not leading in the free world, the free world is not being led.” Former Vice President Mike Pence, interview with radio host John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM, March 23, 2023.”

Rafizadeh continued: “The ruling mullahs of Iran have also become a major exporter of weapons to Russia – and are not limiting themselves to exporting just drones. The vacuum that the Biden administration has left across the world, as well as a result of its failure to lead, is not only effectively handling the US over to China, Russia and Iran; it is also apparently viewed by these rogue states as a green light to act in whatever malign way they want.”

But, have no fear, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, because, according to the Word of God (Ezekiel 38-39), the Lord will destroy Russia, Iran and a host of other nations, as well as the so-called “kings from the east” which, I believe, will include China (Revelation 16:12-16; 19:11-21). All of this means, in my opinion (and I could be wrong), America has either been weakened of destroyed.

Oh, and one more item of interest: Over the last 24 hours, there have been 11 “moderate (5.0-5.9)” earthquakes in different places” in or near: Fiji (1), Indonesia (1), Italy (1), Japan (6), New Zealand (1) and Peru (1). If Jesus was right (and I believe He was and always is), we will see an increase in the frequency and intensity of the “birth pains” (“signs”) of His return, including earthquakes, according to Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

In the first article, the CP Editors wrote: “Hundreds of satanists are preparing to attend SatanCon 2023 in Boston, Mass., this weekend, a sold-out event hosted by a group known for making fun of Christians and theologically conservative beliefs (like me). P.S. I was born in Boston and graduated from Boston Latin School.

In the second article, Oren Liebermann reported: “Russian pilots tried to ‘dogfight’ US jets over Syria according to a spokesman from US Central Command, part of a recent pattern of more aggressive behavior.”

As I have said before, I believe that, as we get closer to the Lord’s return, Satan will not only step us his evil activity on the earth, but also, perhaps, in the heavenlies. And so, we, as truly born-again believers in Jesus who have been saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus, His death, burial and resurrection and not by works (Ephesians 2:8, 9) need to be ready for war with our armor on and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:10-19).

In the words of Sabine Baring Gould, “Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war with the cross of Jesus going on before! In the meantime, let us continue to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).
