MAJOR QUAKES in 2023!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and warm (61 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 28 robins, 6 red-winged blackbirds, 4 deer, 4 grackles, 3 doves, 2 red cardinals, 2 geese and a bunny! Thank You, Jesus!

Last night, there was a “major” (7.7) earthquake, southeast of the Loyalty Islands, which was followed by 21 “moderate” (5.0-5.9) aftershocks and caused a small tsunami with no damage and passed within a few hours. This 7.7 quake was also the 13th “major” earthquake of 2023! Stay tuned!

P.S. Thank you for praying for me yesterday. My first round of “light therapy” went well with only a slight headache afterwards which didn’t last too long. Thank You, Jesus! Also, I am working on a new book, “Discernment,” which, I believe, is much needed in the church today. So, please pray I will say what the Lord wants me to say to His praise, honor and glory.

Please know Jesus is coming! And, just a reminder: He will either be your Savior or Judge. So, if you haven’t already done so, agree with God you are a sinner Who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).

And, if you are a believer in Jesus, make sure you are growing in His grace and knowledge (II Peter 3:18) by reading and meditating on His Word daily while You watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with grace and peace, Doug (5/19/23)

THE PETA BIBLE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (45 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 34 robins, 10 red-winged blackbirds, 2 bunnies, 2 cranes, 2 crows, 2 dogs, 2 ducks, 2 geese and a deer! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from Tyler O’Neill of the Daily Signal, sadly got my attention this morning: “The Book: PETA’s Version of the Creation Story’ Uses ChatGPT to Emphasize Kindness and Compassion for Animals.”

O’Neill reported: “The Book: PETA’s version of the Creation Story isn’t your typical holy book. The first-of-its-kind AI generated interpretation of the Book of Genesis puts a vegan spin on the creation story that’s fun for the whole family! With help from ChatGPT, PETA’s interpretation of the creation story clarifies and highlights the message of kindness, gentleness, and love shared by all religions.”

Wow! That sounds so nice, doesn’t it? But, let me remind you that the gospel has nothing to do with “religion” or all “religions getting along,” though the devil would like you to think that. Please know your “religion” will not save you from your sins. We are saved from our sins solely by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, His burial and resurrection from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4). Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, Jesus is coming! And, did you know that the animal world looks forward to the day when He will return to the earth to set up His kingdom? I would encourage you to read Romans 8:18-25, if you don’t believe me.

This morning, Lord willing, I am going in for “light therapy” to treat my Grover’s Disease. No, I haven’t become a muppet! But, my body often reacts negatively to “treatments.” So, please pray for me. And, Lord willing, tomorrow, I’ll let you know how it went. Blessings with love and prayers in Christ, Doug (5/18/23).

THE DAYS of SODOM!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly cloudy and cool (42 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 28 robins, 13 red-winged blackbirds, 12 grackles, 9 doves, 2 cranes, 2 ducks, 2 geese and a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

This sad and prophetical headline, from Prophecy News Watch, really mad me mad this morning: “Shocking Ruling by Judge – Pride Parade for Students Can Be Mandatory!”

In the article, the PNW staff reported: “A parental war against a school’s decision to forcibly indoctrinate students into the LGBT ideology is continuing – even though a judge in the case already issued a radical ruling that the agenda for alternative sexual lifestyle choices is essentially ‘Christian.'” Note: Not according to the Word of God. And, I would encourage you to read Romans 1:1-2:10 to see what the outcome will be if you go down this road.

But, there’s good news and hope for those of you who want to come out of this lifestyle. Paul wrote in I Corinthians 6:9-11: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

Please know God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven (John 3:16). But, first, you need to agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life.

Please also know I love you and am praying for you and your salvation if you are an unbeliever or sanctification if you are a believer in Jesus, hoping we will meet in heaven one day and spend our eternity together. Love, Doug (5/17/23)

NAKBA DAY!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (58 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 42 robins, 11 red-winged blackbirds, 10 grackles, 9 doves, 5 ducks, 3 deer, 2 crows, 2 geese, a cardinal and a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

Now, I don’t know about you, but I had never heard of the term “Nakba” before, until I saw this headline in this morning’s news: “Abbas calls on UN to oust Israel at world body’s first ‘Nakba Day’ commemoration.”

In the article, I read, “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas compared Israeli rhetoric to Nazi propaganda, demanded Israel be suspended from the UN if it does not grant Palestinians a state and a ‘right of return’ for millions of refugees, and denied Jewish ties to the Temple Mount during a speech at UN Headquarters in New York on Monday. Abbas was speaking at the UN General Assembly’s first-ever commemoration of the ‘Nakba,’ Arabic for ‘catastrophe’ and the Palestinian term for Israel’s creation. Israel harshly opposed the event marking the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, calling it a ‘distortion of history,’ and said it had convinced dozens of other countries to boycott the commemoration.”

Let me remind you, from Scripture (Genesis 12:1-3), the Lord God, in His sovereign will, chose Abram/Abraham and His descendants, the Jews, to be His people, saying to Abram: ‘Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land I will show you, (that is, Israel); and I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Now granted, over time, Abram and his descendants (the Jews), as a result of their lack of faith and idol worship were often disciplined by God until they repented of their sins and returned to worshiping and serving Him. And, even though, there have been numerous attempts by other nations to wipe Israel off the map, like Hitler in the “Holocaust,” the Lord has always preserved a faithful remnant of Jews to worship and serve Him. And, just when you might think that God was done with Israel, we read, in Jeremiah 31:35-37, that, as long as there is “the sun, the moon and the stars,” there will always be an Israel!” And, even though a large majority of the Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah and Savior when He was on the earth, we read, in Zechariah 13:8, 9, of a future time (perhaps even in our lifetime) when one third of the Jews will receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Savior and enter His kingdom when He returns. I can’t wait! But, wait I must, as a believer in Jesus and watch, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, please become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings, Doug (5/16/23)

SATANIC AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny and cool (52 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 27 robins, 10 red-winged blackbirds, 6 grackles, 5 cranes, 4 doves, 3 deer, 2 geese and a duck! Thank You, Jesus!

Sadly, I saw this headline from The Hill: “Satanic After-School Clubs Gain Momentum; Promotes Beliefs!”

According to The Hill staff, “After School Satan clubs are gaining in popularity and don’t show signs of slowing down as supporters continue to garner media attention and legal victories in the name of free speech. These extracurricular clubs associated with the Satanic Temple are only available in primary schools, but the organization soon hopes to expand into high schools. June Everett, campaign director for the After School Satan Club, said the school clubs began in early 2020 as an ‘alternative to religious clubs.’ Last Monday, a district court sided with the Satanic Temple and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which sued a Northampton County, Pennsylvania school district for allowing the club to meet on school grounds.

The Satanic Temple, founded in 2014, aims to “encourage benevolence and empathy, and reject tyrannical authority,” according to its website. However, the organization has been engaged in a ‘pro-abortion crusade’ and has repeatedly ‘come to the aid of America’s largest abortion provider.” The organization has filed multiple lawsuits in different states to overturn pro-life laws and claims pro-life laws deny the supposed right of an ‘involuntary pregnant woman’ to engage in the ‘Satanic Abortion Ritual.’ Despite the well-documented and negative associations made with the Satanic Temple, they claim the students ‘are not actually getting proselytized or instructed in devil worship.”

Just one more sign that Jesus’ coming may be sooner than what we think. Hear what Paul had to say in II Timothy 3:1-5, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men (and women) will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power, and avoid such men (and women) as these. Then, in verses 12-13, he wrote: “And indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men (and women) and imposters will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”

Paul also wrote, in Ephesians 5:15 and 16, “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men (and women), but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” And, I might add: getting more so all the time. And, that is why, as believers in Jesus, we need to “fix our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and keep them there while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Him until He comes. And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, time is running out for you to become one. So, please, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Love & prayers, Doug (5/15/23)

THE THREAT of SYCRETISM!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (52 degrees) where, on my morning walk, I saw: 34 robins, 14 red-winged blackbirds, 9 doves, 9 ducks, 5 deer, 2 cranes, 2 grackles and a bunny! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from The Christian Post, grabbed my attention: “America under threat from syncretism, George Barna says in study; churches urged to respond.”

Senior Features Reporter, Leonardo Blair, reported: “While the World Health Organization has declared that COVID-19 is no longer a ‘public health emergency,’ America’s embrace of syncretism – the fusion of different religions – and the growing rejection of a biblical worldview remains a threat to general quality of life in a post-pandemic world, especially for children, new research from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University suggests.

“During times of crisis, every generation turns to their worldview to navigate the challenges. Sadly, because syncretism is the prevailing worldview of each generation on America today, the response of Americans to the pandemic and the turbulence it facilitated have been every bit as muddied and chaotic as the worldview on which they are based,” wrote George Barna, director of research at the Cultural Research Center on the findings from his research. The ideological and philosophical confusion that characterizes America is perhaps the biggest reflection of the nation’s objection of biblical principles and its decision to replace God’s truth with ‘personal truth.’

Using recent data from the American Worldview Inventory, which is the first-ever national survey conducted in the United States measuring the incidence of both biblical and competing worldviews, Barna shows how the four adult generations in the U.S. – millennials, Gen X (baby busters), baby boomers and elders – had very different spiritual responses to the pandemic.

The research, which involved the tracking of a nationally representative sample of 2,000 adults undertaken in January, showed the lowest incidence of adults with a biblical worldview among the youngest cohorts, millennials, adults born between 1984 and 2002, and Gen X, adults born from 1965 through 1983. The data show that of the four generations, millennials showed the lowest incidence of biblical worldview at 2%. Their connection to Christianity was also shown as quite weak before the pandemic and ‘was even weaker by the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.'”

How sad! And, keep in mind, these are just the beginning of all kinds of tough times ahead for the world and the church, as Jesus reminded us in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. And, even though I believe in a “pre-trib rapture of the church,” I still believe the church will be around for what I like to call “the first trimester of birth pains.” Jesus, in Mark 13:33, 35, 37, told His disciples then and now, “Stay on the alert.” That is why I often say: “Watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes.” And, as I am almost out the door for worship, please, if you are not a believer in Jesus, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings on your Sunday which, hopefully, includes worship and fellowship.

ISRAEL UNDER ATTACK DAILY!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (58 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 27 robins, 9 red-winged blackbirds, 5 doves, 5 ducks, a cardinal, a crane, a grackle and a squirrel! Thank You, Jesus!

This morning’s headline from the Jewish New Syndicate (JNS) really got my attention: “Iron Dome intercepted 91% of 937 rockets fired upon Israel.”

In the article, The JNS Staff reported: “Palestinian Islamic Jihad has fired a total of 937 rockets at Israel since the beginning of ‘Operation Shield and Arrow’ on May 9, with 761 crossing into Israel. Iron Dome intercepted 91% of the 296 rockets that threatened Israeli population centers, but on May 11, one hit the city of Rehovot in the center of the country and killed an Israeli man. The numbers come from Israel’s Consulate General in New York. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that, as of May 12, the attacks are ongoing. ‘As families in Israel gather together for Shabbat dinner, Islamic Jihad terror organization continues to fire barrages of rockets toward Israel,’ the IDF tweeted.”

Just another day in the life of Israel which should not come as a surprise since, in my opinion, the Bible prophesies that, at some time in the future, Israel’s Muslim neighbors will continue its war against Israel “to wipe them out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more (Psalm 83:4),” only to defeated by, I am thinking (and I could be wrong Israel’s “exceedingly great army (Ezekiel 37:10). And then, I also believe (and I could be wrong) Russia, Iran, and a host of other nations will then be drawn away from one war (Ukraine?) to Israel to “take a spoil,” only to be defeated and destroyed by the Lord God Himself, according to Ezekiel 38-39. And, sadly, despite all of what the Lord has done for Israel, we read, in Zechariah 13:7-9 that only one third of the Jews will have believed in Jesus as their Messiah and Savior and enter His kingdom.

Long ago, King David wrote in Psalm 122: 6: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.'” This prayer will not be answered under the Antichrist and his so-called “peace treaty with Israel (Daniel 9:27), but only when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth to defeat His enemies and set up His glorious kingdom which you can read about in Ezekiel 40-48.

So, if you haven’t already done so, simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you are a believer in Jesus, keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Him until He comes . Blessings with love and prayers, Doug (5/13/23)

CALIFORNIA QUAKE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and mild (61 degrees) degrees Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 21 robins, 7 ducks, 4 geese, 3 deer, 2 doves and 2 red-winged blackbirds! Thank You, Jesus!

One week ago today (5/7/23), I wrote in my blog: “Much to my surprise, but not to God, earthquake activity in the U.S. has been mostly ‘minor of late.’ For instance, over the last 24 hours, there was a ‘minor’ (3.3) quake in California, a “minor” (3.0) quake in Oklahoma, 4 ‘minor’ and 1 ‘light’ quakes in Alaska.”

And then, this morning I woke up to find out that, over the last 24 hours, there had been a “moderate” (5.2) quake, 4 km, SSW of East Shore, California (population: 31, as of 2010). This quake was followed by 14 (2.5-3.8) aftershocks.

Now, please don’t get me wrong: I am not saying “I am a prophet.” I am not. But, I have been studying Bible Prophecy for some 35 years and am very well aware of the “signs” Jesus gave His disciples to look for, leading up to His return, one of which are: “earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:7, Mark 13:8 and Luke 21:11). And, He also told us that these and the other “signs” would, like “birth pains” (Matthew 24:8) increase in frequency and intensity. So, stay tuned, dearly beloved in Christ, and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please don’t put it off for another day, for you may not have another day. Simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven, if not sooner. Blessings with love and prayers, Doug (5/12/23)

TONGA QUAKE!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and mild (59 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 33 robins, 9 red-winged blackbirds, 5 doves, 5 geese, 3 bunnies, 2 deer, 2 squirrels, a cardinal and a grackle! Thank You, Jesus!

Yesterday, there was a “major” (7.6) earthquake, 73 km NW of Hihifo, Tonga. It was the 10th “major” (7.0-7.9) earthquake of this year. And, by contrast, there were 11 “major” quakes in all of 2022. Stay tuned! That made me think of an article which raised the question: “Can ‘Megaquakes’ (10.0 or larger) really happen?” The answer: “No!” The reason: “The magnitude of an earthquake is related to the length of the fault on which it occurs. That is, the longer the fault, the larger the earthquake. A fault is a break in the rocks that make up Earth’s crust, along which rocks on either side have moved past each other. No fault long enough to generate a magnitude 10 earthquake is known to exist. And, if it did, it would extend around most of the planet.”

However, as encouraging as it sounds, the author of the article is leaving out one very important, what I like to call, the “God-factor” which we read about in three different passages in Revelation: The first (6:12-14) where the apostle John wrote: “I looked when He (the Lord Jesus) broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake (8.0+) ; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places!”

The second is in Revelation 11 when the “two witnesses,” are killed by the antichrist, then raised by the Lord and taken up into heaven. In verse 13, John reported: “And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; 7,000 people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.”

The third (Revelation 16:17-18) where John wrote: “Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, ‘it is done.’ And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it and so mighty.”

So, a word to the unbelieving scientists and seismologists of the world, don’t overlook the “God-factor!” And, if you are not a believer, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Then, watch (for the “greats”), wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love and prayers, Doug (5/11/23)

ANOTHER SIGN of DECLINE!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny and warm (58 degrees) where, on my morning walk, I saw: 34 robins, 11 deer, 7 red-winged blackbirds, 7 geese, 5 grackles, 3 doves, a dog, a squirrel and got 2 waves from the truck drivers! Thank You, Jesus!

The following headline, from today’s Christian Post, is just one more sign of this country’s spiritual decline: “Most Christians don’t have a biblical worldview.”

In the article, Garland Hunt reported: “According to the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, over 69% of Americans identify as Christians. However, only 4% of Americans have a biblical worldview. A biblical worldview is a means of experiencing, interpreting and responding to reality in light of biblical perspectives so that each choice made may be consistent with God’s principles and commands. In other words, do you sift decision making in all areas of your life through the Word of God? The answers is “no,” for most Americans.

Hunt continued: “I am disappointed as well – as we have all seen the negative impact social media, arts and entertainment, public schools and the government have had on our lives. Unfortunately, the culture is shaping people more than the church. Where there is no biblical worldview, there is no repentance, contrition, brokenness or redemption.”

Hunt then offers a solution: “Christ followers should start by studying God’s Word daily, asking the Lord for wisdom. The Church must disciple, providing wisdom from the Word of God about today’s critical issues – such as the sanctity of life, marriage and family.
