Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and warm (66 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 37 robins, 29 blackbirds, 18 grackles, 7 doves, 6 deer (including my first fawn), 5 geese, 3 bunnies, 3 ducks, a crane and a finch! Thank You, Jesus!
This headline, from 5/25/23, was sad, but not surprising: “Scientists Near Breakthrough to Revolutionize Human Reproduction.”
In the article, Dr. Joseph Mercola wrote: “It might sound like science fiction, but it’s not. NPR reports that scientists not only may soon be able to mass produce eggs and sperm in a lab from any cell in a person’s body, but will be able to create embryos to make a child using just one parent’s cells. Known as in vitro gametogenesis, or IVG, this means humans could create babies and give birth just with their own DNA, without the ‘help’ of someone else’s sperm and eggs. Scientists say this isn’t a matter of if it can be done, but when.
Besides being an aid to infertility, it could also help trans people to have children, for example, by having only their own DNA as the generic parent. The implications of the process are far-reaching, with ethical questions to address, such as whether a dead person could produce a baby through a few preserved cells, or if someone far too old or too young to have children could become parents this way.”
Wow! Wow! Wow! What next? I shudder to think. Certainly, one more sign of God’s judgment to come upon a sinful and rebellious world which, for the most part, now “worships the creature rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25)” and will be judged accordingly with hell, unless they agree with God they are sinners who need a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for their sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all their sins and give them eternal life (John 3:16).
And, if you are a believer in Jesus, “be on the alert” (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, thank You, Jesus, for all the men and women who have served and are continuing to serve in the military, including our local military, the HPD and HFD, on this Memorial Day! Please know you are not forgotten. Love, blessings and prayers, Doug (5/29/23)
