Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, windy and cool (56 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 2 deer and a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

This recent headline, from ABC News, got my attention this morning: “5 asteroids passing by Earth this week, the size of planes, NASA says.”

In the article, Teddy Grant wrote: “Five asteroids will fly past Earth beginning Wednesday, but aren’t expected to threaten the planet, NASA said. Between September 6 and September 12, one asteroid the size of a house, three the size of a plane and one the size of a bus will make way near Earth, according to NASA’s Asteroid Watch dashboard. The asteroid named JA5, the house-sized asteroid first discovered in 2021 is approximately 59 feet. On September 8, two asteroids, QC5 and GE, will whiz within 2.53 million miles and 3.56 million miles, respectively, of the planet. QC5 is around 84 feet and the size of a plane and was discovered this year, while GE is the size of a bus and was detected in 2022, according to NASA Asteroid Watch data.”

Note: All I (Doug) can say is “stay tuned” and watch for asteroids to hit the earth at sometime in the future, as prophesied in Luke 21:25 where the good doctor reported of “signs in the sun, the moon and the stars and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming on the world” which will include, get this, 100 pound hailstones (Revelation 16:21). Yikes!

Oh, and one more thing, yesterday, there was a “strong” (6.2) earthquake near the coast of Coquimbo, Chile with no injuries or fatalities, as of this morning. Thank You, Jesus! Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! Are you ready? Do you know Him as your Savior and Lord? If you do, your sins are forgiven and you have eternal life (John 3:16). If you don’t, please know you are on your way to an eternal hell. But, you can change that right now by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This morning’s headline, from Prophecy News Watch, really got my attention: “Nuclear Weapons!”

In the article, Michael Snyder reported: “Most Americans have absolutely no idea how close we are to nuclear war. Our politicians confidently assure us that the war in Ukraine will never spark a nuclear conflict, and the mainstream media in the western world rarely talks about such a scenario. But over in Russia, things are completely different. They regard the war in Ukraine as an existential conflict between Russia and NATO, and there is constant talk on Russian television about the possibility of nuclear war. Here is the latest example that I have come across: A Kremlin propagandist has issued the latest threat against the West regarding the war in Ukraine, warning that the U.S. could be in danger of a Russian missile attack.

Igor Korotchenko, editor of the newspaper National Defense and a regular guest on the Russia 1channel where guests have repeatedly called for strikes against Ukraine’s allies, took exception to criticism of Russian conduct in the war. “Nuclear war is the ‘inevitable’ conclusion of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a Russian general who wrote the nation’s ‘war bible’ has warned. The chilling forecast came from retired Major General Alexander Vladimirov who penned Russia’s three volume book called the ‘General Theory of War.'”

Question: “Why didn’t this make headline news all over the United States?” According to Vladimirov, ‘nuclear weapons will be used in this war,’ and he wants his country to actively prepare for such an outcome so that they will have the best chance to survive.”

Here’s another interesting and, perhaps prophetic, question: “Does the Bible say anything about a future nuclear war?” Answer: “It might, if you look at Revelation 6:7, 8 where John wrote: “When the Lamb (the Lord Jesus) broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, ‘Come.’ I looked, and behold an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword (war) and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.”

Personally, I believe the church will have been raptured before these judgments, based on Scriptures like Thessalonians 1:10, where Paul wrote that we are “to wait for His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, Who rescues us from the wrath to come.” And, as I usually end my blogs, as believers in Jesus, we are to: watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe Jesus died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Here are some headlines, from today’s news, which are developing and scary:

#1. North Korea’s Kim Jong Un may meet with Putin in Russia this month, US official says (Reuters)

#2. Health Department Covers Up Illegal Lab in California (Dr. Joseph Mercola)

In the first article, Lou Kesten reports: “A U.S. official said Monday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may travel to Russia soon to meet with President Vladimir Putin as the Kremlin tries to acquire military equipment for use in its war in Ukraine. The official, who was not authorized to address the matter publicly and spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. expects Kim will make this trip this month. The official said the U.S. isn’t sure exactly where or when the meeting would take place, but the Pacific port city of Vladivostok would be a likely possibility given its relative proximity to North Korea.”

In the second article, Dr. Joseph Mercola wrote: “In mid-December 2022, an illegal Chinese medical lab was discovered in Reedley, California, in a dilapidated warehouse. The company, Universal Meditech Inc. – which was operating without a state license or other required permits – was manufacturing a wide variety of test kits, including pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, COVID-19 test kits and various drug tests. The lab was found to be improperly storing at least 20 infectious agents, including E coli, coronavirus, malaria, hepatitis B and C, dengue, chlamydia, herpes, rubella and HIV. While the investigation into the illicit lab began in late December 2022, the public wasn’t informed about its existence until July 2023. According to local officials, state and federal agencies told them to keep quiet.”

Kind of makes me wonder what else is going on with our government, Russia, China and North Korea that we don’t know about. And yet, with the exception of the United States, the Bible tells us quite a bit about Russia’s de (Ezekiel 38-39) and the “kings from the east” which could include China and North Korea (Revelation 16:12-16), all of whom the Lord Jesus will destroy (Revelation 19:11-21). Now, I could be wrong, but, if the U.S. is included with Sheba, Dedan with all its villages,” (Ezekiel 38:13), then, all we do is make a weak protest against Russia’s invasion of Israel to “take a spoil.”

As I have said before, even though I believe in a “pre-trib rapture of the church, I also believe it is quite possible we could be around to see some of the above. As a result, we need to remember Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:6, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.” And, as believers in Jesus, we are to “stay on the alert (Mark 13:33, 35, 37)” and watch, wait work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you still have time to become one by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and warm (73 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I did not see any animals or birds, but did see the “bright morning star” (Venus) of which William MacDonald, in his “Believers Bible Commentary, wrote: “Christ will first come to the church as the Bright and Morning Star, that is, at the Rapture (which not all Christians believe in, but I do). Later He will come to the earth as the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2).”

Jesus told His disciples, in Matthew 24:6 and Mark 13:7 that, before His return, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of war. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.”

Here are a couple of, perhaps prophetic, headlines in the “rumors of war” category which could easily turn into wars:

#1. “Nasrallah meets Hamas, PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad) to unite terror front against Israel (Jerusalem Post). Note: See the prophecy of Psalm 83.

#2. North Korea says it has simulated a nuclear missile attack to warn the U.S. of nuclear war danger (CNN). See the prophecies of Revelation 6:7,8; 9:17, 18; 16:13-16.

In the first article, Seth J. Frantzman, of the Jerusalem Post, reported: “Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah met with the secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad al-Nakhalah and the deputy head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Saleh, Al-Arouri, reports in Lebanon said on Saturday. The meeting brings together key terror leaders who are all backed by Iran. PIJ is generally seen as a proxy of Iran and it has been involved in an unprecedented wave of terror attacks and violence in the last year in the West Bank.” Note: See the prophecies of Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38-38

In the second article, Heather Law and Heather Chen, of CNN, wrote: “North Korea said Sunday it had simulated a nuclear missile attack to warn the United States of ‘nuclear war danger.’ The country launched several cruise missiles, some of them equipped with mock nuclear warheads , state media outlet KCNA said, describing the exercise as a simulation of a ‘tactical nuclear attack.’ The exercises were meant to ‘warn the enemies of the actual nuclear war danger,’ KCNA reported the Central Military Commission of the Workers Party of Korea saying.” Note: See the prophecies of Revelation 6:7, 8; 9:13-21.

Scary stuff for sure. But, Jesus said:, in Matthew 24:6, “See that you are not frightened for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.” Now, personally I do not believe we, as Christians, will be around for the “worst of the worst,” as Paul wrote in I Thessalonians 5:9, “For God has not destined us to wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” But, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please know you are under the wrath of God and headed for an eternity in hell. But, there’s good news: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” And, if you are a believer in Jesus, “Stay on the alert” (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. This headline, from yesterday’s news, really got my attention: “President Biden: ‘Nobody intelligent’ can deny the impact of climate crisis.”

In the article, Alex Gangitano wrote: “President Biden said that ‘no intelligent person can deny the impacts of climate change,’ after the president toured storm damage in Florida from Hurricane Idalia.” He said: “Just look around the nation and the world for that matter: ‘Historic floods, intense droughts, extreme heat, deadly wildfires that have caused serious damage that we’ve never seen before.”

Well, just call me stupid or smart, for that matter, because I have a different reason for “climate change” – God! Did you know that God and His angels control all the weather? For instance, the apostle John wrote, in Revelation 7:1, “After this (Chapter 6), I (John) saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind should blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.”

I would suggest you read Revelation 6-20 and you will hear, in vivid details, of all kinds of strange and deadly phenomena, including the weather, as part of God’s judgment on a sinful and rebellious earth which culminates with the return of Jesus Christ to set up His kingdom.

Mr. President, please know I am praying for you and, especially for your salvation as God tells me to in I Timothy 2:1-6 which, I suggest, you read and simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Roans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). These two headlines got my attention this morning:

#1. Russia deploys Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles Putin says will make world ‘think twice’ for combat (FOX NEWS.com).

#2. Israel, US to hold drill simulating strike on Iran nuke sites (Jewish News Syndicate)

In the first article, Brie Stimson reported: “Russia has deployed the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles that President Vladimir Putin once said would make the world ‘think twice’ for combat, its Roscosmos space agency said Friday. “The Sarmat strategic complex has been put on combat duty,”Roscosmos general director Yuri Borisov said.

Putin first announced Sarmat, also called ‘Satan II, in 2018. The ballistic missile system is capable of carrying at least 10 nuclear warheads and is intended to replace the R-36 ICBMs that are known by the NATO reporting name of Satan.”

In the second article, the JNS staff wrote: “Israel and the United States are set to hold a series of joint exercises in the coming months. One of the exercises will simulate a coordinated Israeli-US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, while another is intended to practice the response to a multi-front missile attack, Israel’s Channel 12 cited an unnamed source as saying.”

I believe (not all Christians do) that, at some time in the future when Israel is living in peace (not now), Russia, Iran and a host of other nations will attack Israel to “take a spoil,” only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself (Ezekiel 38-39). Then, in my opinion, China and the other “kings from the east” (Revelation 16:12-16) will be the next major world power which will then be destroyed by the Lord Jesus when He returns to the earth to set up His kingdom (Revelation 19:11-21). Stay tuned, because I believe we may just see some of these prophecies fulfilled in our lifetime.

This headline, from today’s Christian Post, got my attention: “As pastors age, majority struggle to find mature young Christian successors: study.”

In the article, Senior Features Reporter Leonardo Blair wrote: “As American pastors continue to skew older, with an average age of 52, a majority now say it is becoming increasingly difficult to find mature young Christians to do their jobs as they prepare to retire, data from a new Barna study shows. Based on 585 online interviews with Protestant senior pastors nationwide, the study was conducted from September 6-16, 2022.

Researchers found that some 75% of the pastors in the study at least somewhat agree with the statement that ‘it is becoming harder to find mature, young Christians who want to be pastors.”

Question: “What about those older, mature Christian pastors, like me, who still want to be pastors, but are considered to be “too old” for the job?” So, you might want to know what I have been doing since I “retired” from being a pastor. Well, after traveling some with my wife, I decided to write a book, then another and another and another and another and another (“Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy” which , sadly, draws very little interest in our churches today, despite being about the second coming of Christ, our “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13) which certainly is much needed today. Now, in addition to teaching two Bible studies (one for our church; the other for the neighbors in our condo association, I am working on another book, “Discernment,” which I also strongly believe is lacking in many of our churches today.

Jesus said, in Luke 19:13, “Occupy till I come which means, as Christians, we are to “keep busy: watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (57 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk under clear skies, I saw: 2 deer, a dog and the heavens declaring the glory of God! Thank You, Jesus!

I am sad to report that, when I went to publish this blog, it disappeared! So, I will start all over again and try to give you the highlights. P.S. I am thinking the enemy didn’t want me to print this since it was all about the second coming of Christ.

So, here I go again. This morning headline, from Harry Baker at Live Science, really got my attention: “Mystery explosion on sun launches coronal mass ejection at Mars!”

In the article, Harry reported: “A mysterious explosion on the sun’s far side has launched a blob of plasma and radiation that is forecast to slam into Mars. If the solar storm hits the Red Planet. it could trigger faint ultraviolet auroras and potentially erode part of the Martian atmosphere, according to experts. Earth-orbiting satellites detected the surprise explosion on August 26 on the far side of the sun. Further analysis revealed the explosion was an M-class solar flare, the second most powerful type of solar eruption. However, researchers are still unsure what triggered the explosion (God?) as there were no prior signs of sunspots – dark, highly magnetic patches on the sun’s surface.”

And Jesus said, in Luke 21:25-28: “There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on earth dismay among nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things (the signs Jesus gave us in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21) begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Glory to God!

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming and, maybe sooner than later, if the “signs” of His return continue to increase in frequency and intensity like ‘birth pains’ (Matthew 24:8). So, stay on the alert (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for and walking with Jesus until He comes. And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God You are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (55 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 3 deer and a dog who wasn’t very happy to see me! Thank You, Jesus, He was tied up!

I don’t know about you, but I get all kinds of emails from a variety of sources, some of which I include in my morning blogs; others I do not. For instance, of late, I have read a number of emails warning the U.S. of an imminent attack on Taiwan from China.

Truly, only God knows for sure if this will happen. However, we do know, from Scriptures, like Revelation 16:12-16, that the “kings from the east” which may very well include China, will be among those nations who will be marching to Armageddon.

So, what are we, as Christians to do as we wait to see what happens next on the world scene.? First of all, we are to heed the words of Jesus from Matthew 24:6, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.”

Next, I believe, as believers in Jesus, we are to be about, what I like to call the “six ws,” – watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, please do not put it off for another moment, but simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven. And, one more thing before I close, please pray for our grandson, Luke, who will be undergoing a procedure today in Philadelphia. These headlines got my attention this morning:

#1. Russia scrambles jets on Monday to prevent US drones over Crimea (Reuters)

#2. Idalia to hit Florida as a major category 3 hurricane (NBC News)

#3. There was a “major” (7.1) earthquake in the Gili Air Region of Indonesia (USGS)

In the first article, the Reuters staff reported: “Russia scrambled two fighter jets on Monday to prevent two U.S. drones from violating its border over the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said. And Jesus said, in Matthew 24:6, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of war.”

In the second article, the NBC News Staff reported that Hurricane Adelia was headed for the west coast of Florida as a major, Category 3, hurricane with a 10+foot storm surge possible. And Jesus said, in Luke 21:25, “There will be signs in the sun, the moon and the stars, and on earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves.”

And, according to the USGS, over the last 24 hours, there was a “major” (7.1) earthquake in the Gili Air Region of Indonesia. And Jesus said, in Luke 21:11, “and there will be great earthquakes.” A “great” earthquake is any quake above 8.0 on the Richter Scale which usually occurs, on average, once per year. Note: Over the last ten years, there have been only 3 “great” earthquakes around the world. To the believers in Jesus, I encourage you to “stay on the alert” (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, your time is running out. So, please, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).” And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven.
