Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, misty and cool (60 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: a baby frog! Thank You, Jesus!
These recent headlines, from the Times of Israel, really got my attention this morning:
#1.In ‘unprecedented’ move, Iran bars 1/3 of UN inspectors from accessing nuclear sites.
#2. Revolutionary Guard’s chief warns Israel’s life ‘will be cut short’ if it attacks Iran.
Certainly, these headlines are not surprising, as this chess game over nuclear bombs between Israel and Iran has been going on for years. Sadly, the current U. S. administration has been helping Iran achieve its goal but, based on Bible prophecy (Ezekiel 38-39), Iran, along with Russia and a host of other countries will, at some time in the future, invade Israel to “take a spoil” and be destroyed by the Lord God Himself. Thank You, Lord!
Yesterday, I wrote something about “earthquakes” which, those of you have been following my blogs know, is a favorite of mine because Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7 and Mark 13:8, that, as a sign of His return, there will be “earthquakes in various places.”
So, get this, I wasn’t going to write about them today until I looked at the USGS’ earthquake list from the last 24 hours, only to find there had been a “moderate” (5.8) earthquake, 199 km WNW of McNeill, Canada which was followed by two “light” (4.5, 4.3) aftershocks on the Vancouver Islands. So, “what’s the big deal,” you might ask. According to the experts, “The Pacific Northwest is known for many things. But, most people don’t know it’s home to the Cascadia megathrust fault that runs 600 miles (966 km) from northern California up to Vancouver Island in Canada, spanning several metropolitan areas including Seattle and Portland, Oregon. Scientists know it has the potential for large earthquakes – as big as magnitude 9 which the Richter Scale would label a “great (8.0+) earthquake.” And, get this, Jesus said, in Luke 21:11, that one of the “signs” leading up to His return, would be “great earthquakes” which you can read about in Revelation 11:13; 16:16. Stay tuned!
Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are exciting and scary times. But, remember, Jesus said, in Matthew 24:6, “See that you are not frightened” and, in Matthew 28:19, 20, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you can become one right now by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings and prayers with love, Doug (9/17/23)
