Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 12 robins, 6 deer, 2 doves, 2 planes, a cardinal and “barkie the dog! Thank You, Jesus!
This recent headline got my attention this morning: “Solar Storm Brings Stunning Auroras and Potential Disruptions.”
In the article, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) issued a rare severe geomagnetic storm warning when the solar outburst reached Earth on Friday afternoon, hours earlier than expected. The storm poses a risk for high-voltage transmission lines in power grids and could affect satellites, potentially leading to disruptions in navigation and communication services on Earth. An extreme geomagnetic storm in 2003, for example, took out power in Sweden and damaged power transformers in South Africa.
The storm has produced strong solar flares since Wednesday, resulting in at least seven outbursts of plasma known as coronal mass ejections (CMEs). These eruptions are part of the increased solar activity as the sun approaches the peak of its 11-year cycle.” Let me (Doug) remind you that Jesus said that, as we get closer to His return, there will be “signs in the sun, the moon and the stars (Luke 21:25).” Dr. Luke also recorded Jesus saying in verse 28: “But when these things (all the things Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21) begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (salvation) is drawing near.”
So, let me ask you a question: “Is your redemption drawing near?” And, do even know what “redemption is?” It means you have agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).
Please know I am praying for your salvation, if you are not “saved” and for “your sanctification” (living a Christ-like life) if you are. Jesus is coming? Are you ready and excited? You should be. Then, watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Doug (5/12/24)
