MORE SIGNS of JESUS’ RETURN!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 12 robins, 6 deer, 2 doves, 2 planes, a cardinal and “barkie the dog! Thank You, Jesus!

This recent headline got my attention this morning: “Solar Storm Brings Stunning Auroras and Potential Disruptions.”

In the article, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) issued a rare severe geomagnetic storm warning when the solar outburst reached Earth on Friday afternoon, hours earlier than expected. The storm poses a risk for high-voltage transmission lines in power grids and could affect satellites, potentially leading to disruptions in navigation and communication services on Earth. An extreme geomagnetic storm in 2003, for example, took out power in Sweden and damaged power transformers in South Africa.

The storm has produced strong solar flares since Wednesday, resulting in at least seven outbursts of plasma known as coronal mass ejections (CMEs). These eruptions are part of the increased solar activity as the sun approaches the peak of its 11-year cycle.” Let me (Doug) remind you that Jesus said that, as we get closer to His return, there will be “signs in the sun, the moon and the stars (Luke 21:25).” Dr. Luke also recorded Jesus saying in verse 28: “But when these things (all the things Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21) begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (salvation) is drawing near.”

So, let me ask you a question: “Is your redemption drawing near?” And, do even know what “redemption is?” It means you have agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).

Please know I am praying for your salvation, if you are not “saved” and for “your sanctification” (living a Christ-like life) if you are. Jesus is coming? Are you ready and excited? You should be. Then, watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Doug (5/12/24)

DANIEL & LUKE!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny, windy and cool (47 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 18 robins, 2 doves, 2 geese, a deer and a grackle! Thank You, Jesus!

Every other Saturday, I have been teaching a study on Daniel which, along with Revelation, is a fascinating book which tells us much about Bible prophecy which I love to teach. And, every other Friday, I have been teaching a class on Luke which I have said over and over again is my “favorite gospel” because the “beloved physician” (Colossians 4:14) tells us about “real people” we can relate to. So, I am curious: What is your favorite book or verse in the Bible? And why?

Then, Lord willing, I’ll share them tomorrow in my blog. Almost time to teach. So, let me ask you: “Have you agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you have, are you watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes?

Love & prayers,

Doug (5/11/24)

SINGING to the LORD!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny/partly cloudy Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw a huge hawk and 2 robins! Thank You, Jesus!

Now, I don’t know about you, but I just love to sing hymns and praise songs to the glory of God. And, this morning, as I was doing my research for today’s blog, I came across this news from The Temple Institute in Jerusalem: “Temple Institute’s Levitical Choir Rehearsing New Songs.”

In the article, I read: “Following their very successful performance alongside the Temple Institute’s golden menorah in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem’s old city over the Passover holiday, the Temple Institute’s Levitical Choir is back to rehearsals, preparing for their next public performance. Heeding the psalmist’s words to ‘sing to HaShem a new song,’ (Psalms 96, 98, 149), the Levitical Choir are now rehearsing a new melody for Psalm 115, the first eleven verses.”

And, speaking of “new songs,” two of my favorites are: “Is He Worthy?” by Andrew Peterson (I also like Chris Tomlin’s version) and Jeremy and Adrienne Camp’s “Whatever May Come.” I would be interested in knowing some of your favorite songs or hymns.

Please know I appreciate your interest in and support of my blogs. May the Lord use them to bless you and others to His glory. And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, why not become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Grace and peace, Doug (5/10/24)

BAD MOVE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (51 degrees) where, on my morning walk, in a steady rain, I saw: 2 robins and a raccoon! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline from Reuters, saddened me and may result in the judgment of God on America: “The Biden Administration confirmed on Tuesday evening that it would withhold a large shipment of bombs from being sent to its intended destination in Israel. An anonymous official told Reuters that the United States began a review of the bomb shipment back in April. had enacted such a pause since the war began in October.” As a result of that review, we have paused one shipment of weapons last week,” the official said, confirming that the shipment consisted of 1,800 units of 2,000-pound bombs and another 1,700 units of 500-pound bombs. This was reportedly the first time the U.S. had enacted such a pause since the war began last October.”

Now, you might ask: “So, what’s the big deal since we send bombs to Ukraine and, maybe even other “allies?” Well, the “big deal” is that, according to Zechariah 2:8, we read: “For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you (Israel), touches the apple of His eye.”

Now granted, Israel has been suffering consequences, even the judgment of God, for not accepting the Lord Jesus as her Messiah and Savior. In fact, we read in Zechariah 13:8, 9 where the prophet wrote: “And it will come about in all the land (Israel),” declares the Lord, that two parts in it will be cur off and perish; but the third will be left in it. And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say. “They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘the Lord is my God.'”

It is my opinion (and I could be wrong) that President Biden’s move to halt sending weapons to Israel may just be the “last straw” which could lead to the destruction of the United States! So, in the meantime, let us “pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).”

Before I head off to work, let me ask you: “Have you agreed with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believed He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16)?” If not, please do so right now. And, if you are a believer in Jesus: watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings & prayers, Doug (5/9/24)

GOD-WARMING!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (49 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, after a wild night of storms, I saw: 17 robins, 3 deer, a cardinal and a bunny! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from Reuters, really caught my eye this morning: “World’s record-breaking temperature streak extends through April.”

In the article, Kate Abnett reported: “The world just experienced its hottest April on record, extending an 11-month streak in which every month set a temperature record, the European Union’s climate change monitoring service said on Wednesday. Each month since June 2023 has ranked the planet’s hottest on record, compared with the corresponding month in previous years, the Copernicus Climate Change Service said in a monthly bulletin.

Including April, the world’s average temperature was the highest on record for a 12-month period – 1.61degrees Celsius above the average in the 1850-1900 pre-industrial period. Some of the extremes – including months of record breaking sea surface temperatures – have led scientists to investigate whether human activity has now triggered a tipping point in the climate system. “I think many scientists have asked the question whether there could be a shift in the climate system,” said Julien Nicolas, C3S Senior Climate Scientist. Greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels are the main cause of climate change.”

I (Doug) beg to differ, based on the Word of God, the Bible, which says, in Revelation 7:16, of those who have come out of the so-called “Great Tribulation” of God’s judgment on earth which Jesus described, in Matthew 24:21, 22, as the “worst time in human history, saying, “They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat.” In other words, as we get closer to the Lord’s return, He will turn up the heat on this planet as part of His judgment. I like to call it “God-warming,” as opposed to “global warming.” Stay tuned! And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, I beg of you, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give You eternal life (John 3:16). Then, keep watching, waiting working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, believe me, you will be eternally grateful! Love in Christ, Doug (5/8/24)

THE INCREASE Of LAWLESSNESS!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, windy and cool (53 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 4 robins, a deer and a plane! Thank You, Jesus!

This morning-headline from the AP (Associated Press) shocked, but did not surprise me: “Man’s attempt to shoot pastor during sermon in Pennsylvania fails when gun won’t fire. Thankfully, he was tackled by a congregant.”

Over the last few days, I have been highlighting some of the “signs” Jesus gave His disciples in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 which will lead up to His second coming to the earth. Hear what He said in Matthew 24:12: “And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” Just watch the news and you will see this prophecy coming true by the day, the hour and the minute.

Sadly today, many churches do not preach or teach about Bible prophecy which, by the way, makes up about 30% of Scripture. And, in case you didn’t know, John wrote, in Revelation 19:10, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” So, what’s not to love about that? In fact, the Old Testament/Hebrew Scriptures point to Christ’s first coming; the New Testament, to His second coming.

And, in case you didn’t know, I wrote a book, “Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy” which is kind of a “Beginners Guide” to prophecy which, I believe, you can still get, along with my other books, on Amazon for $10. If not, just send me an email and let me know how many you want, along with your address, and I’ll get them to you. By the way, I have written 5 books and am almost done with a sixth, “Discernment” which I also believe is lacking in our churches today. So, fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and keep looking up, as our redemption is drawing near (Luke 21:28).

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Glory to God! Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/7/24)

MY MISTAKE!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 2 planes and a robin! Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of sight!

Many of you who have followed my blog over the years know that I have often written about “earthquakes,” mainly because Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7, and Mark 13:8, that one of the “signs” leading up to His return would be “earthquakes in various places.” I must confess, in case you hadn’t noticed, when I quote this verse, I often leave out part of it, as Jesus really said: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.”

Certainly there are famines all around the world. And, even though we may have an occasional food shortage in America, for the most part, we usually not only have something to eat, but also plenty of it. And yet, Scripture speaks of a different kind of famine which many of us, even as Christians, often take for granted. Hear what the prophet Amos had to say in Amos 8:11, “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord God, when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, but rather for hearing the words of the Lord.”

All I can says is “how sad!” And yet, both Jesus, in Matthew 24:10, and Paul, in II Thessalonians 2:3, prophesied this would happen. And, in case you didn’t know, right now, many “Christians” are leaving their churches, falling away from the true faith in Christ and opening the door, whether they realize it or not, for the Antichrist and his rule which will lead them straight to hell.

Let me ask you: “Are you one of them?” If you are, please know you still have time to repent, that is, to agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Then, “fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and keep them there while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/6/24)

QUAKES in DIFFERENT STATES!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (44 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 12 robins, 2 planes, a beautiful sliver of the moon, a cardinal, a dove and “Barkie” the dog! Thank You, Jesus for all the different animals and birds You have created!

As many of you know, I like to study earthquakes primarily because of what Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 24:8: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places” which He told them would be one of the “signs” leading up to HIs return. Then, He continued: “These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs (pains).”

In other words, these “signs” of the Lord’s return will increase in “frequency and intensity,” as we get closer to His return. Question: “Does this mean we will be seeing an increase in the frequency and intensity of “earthquakes around the world and in the USA?” I believe so. For instance, over the last 24 hours, according to the USGS, there have been 15 “very minor” (2.6-2.7) quakes in 6 different states (Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, Oklahoma, off the coast of Oregon and a “moderate” (5.2) quake in Alaska. So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let us heed His words in Mark 13:33, 35, 37 to “stay on the alert,” as we watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, please become one today because there is no guarantee you will have a tomorrow. So, “here’s the drill,” as Judy Dalton used to say: Agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life(John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Love in Christ, Doug (5/5/24)

QUAKES & FLARES!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (55 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 12 robins and a beautiful sliver of the moon! Thank You, Jesus!

Here are a couple of recent headlines which got my attention:

#1. Heart of Tornado Alley shaken by 3.4 magnitude earthquake (Fox Weather)

#2. 4 solar flares simultaneously erupt from the sun in rare ‘super’ explosion – and Earth could be hit by the fallout (Live Science)

In the first article, Andrew Wulfeck of FOX Weather reported: “While many in Oklahoma received a break from severe weather Thursday, a 3.4 (‘minor) magnitude earthquake shook communities in the central part of the state, sending people to social media to figure out what was going on. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake was centered near Edmond, Oklahoma (population: 81,405, as of 2010), and happened just before 6 p.m. local time.”

In the second article, the Live Science staff wrote: “An ‘exceptionally rare, ‘quadruple’ solar flare just exploded from four different points of the sun’s surface at almost the exact same time. The components of this interconnected, explosive tetrad may have also launched a solar storm toward Earth – which could potentially slam into our planet in the coming days.”

And Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places, like Oklahoma, there will be famines and earthquakes.”

And Jesus also said, in Luke 21:25, 26: “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

As I have said before to my dear brothers and sisters in Christ: “Stay tuned and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.” And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Thank You, Jesus! Glory to God! Blessings with love, Doug (5/4/24)

QUAKES & FEAR!

Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny and cool (51 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk in the light, I saw: 14 robins, 5 deer, 2 grackles, a bunny and a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

Yesterday, I wrote to you about 11 “moderate” (5.0-5.9) earthquakes, including 5 in Alaska, and a “light” (4.1) quake in Orange County, California.

And, get this, this morning, I read of a “moderate” (5.0) earthquake, 211 km WSW of Tofino, British Columbia (population: 1,876, as of 2010) in the Vancouver Island Region where, I am told by the so-called “experts,” that a “great” (8.0+) earthquake in that area could potentially wipe out the entire west coast of Canada and the United States! So, stay tuned and keep an eye on the west coast for any further activity of earthquakes in the days and weeks to come.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are certainly exciting and scary times in which we live. And yet, the Lord tells us over and over again in His Word ( Matthew 14:27; 17:7; 28:10; Mark 5:36; 6:50; Luke 6:20; 12:4; John 14:27; Luke18:9; John 6:20; 14:27: “Do not be afraid.” He even said the same to Paul in Acts 18:9. And, even Peter wrote, in I Peter 3:14: “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account of the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence (I Peter 3:14, 15).” And, for the unbelievers out there who might be reading this, please, before it is too late, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven!

And, if you are already a believer in Jesus, simply watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Blessings with love in Christ, Doug (5/3/24)
