Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (53 degrees) Wisconsin from where I have decided to switch gears and take us on a journey through the Bible, a verse at a time, using the New American Standard Version. But, before I begin, let me start with a word of prayer: “Father, thank You for this new day and opportunity to worship and serve You. Please search my heart and mind by Your Holy Spirit for any unconfessed sin that, if there be any, I would be convicted of it, confess it to You, be cleansed of it by You and be filled with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) to “walk in a manner worthy of my calling in Christ Jesus today in victory, humility and holiness with joy and thanksgiving (I Thessalonians 5:16, 18) to Your glory. Amen? Amen! Someone once asked: “Who created God?” Answer: “No one, since God has always existed from eternity which is hard for us humans, to understand. As someone once taught me: “God said it, I believe it, that settles it; let’s get on with it!”
In Genesis 1:3, 4, Moses wrote: “God saw that the light was good; and separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness He called night And there was evening and there was morning, one day.”
Sadly, when I was in seminary, I was taught by some of my professors that “Moses did not write the first five books of the Bible.” And, because I didn’t know better, I believed my professors, that is, until I read Deuteronomy 31:24 where I read: “It came about, when Moses finished writing the words of this law in a book until they were complete.” I also liked what someone else taught me about God’s Word, the Bible: “God said it, I believe it, that settles it, let’s get on with it!” Amen and Amen!
