Good morning, blog readers, from mostly sunny and cool (51 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk under clear skies, I saw the heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1) and heard a baby screech owl!
This, perhaps prophetical, headline, from Live Science, really got my attention this morning: “Monster X-class flare launches massive solar storm towards Earth and could trigger auroras this weekend.”
Harry Baker reported: “The sun just unleashed one of its largest solar explosions in recent years, temporarily causing a radio blackout on Earth and spitting out a coronal mass ejected (CME) that will likely collide with our planet this weekend.”
The X-class solar flare – the most powerful type the sun can produce – exploded outward from sunspot QR3842 near the solar equator at around 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday (October 1). The flare had a magnitude of X7.1, making it the second most powerful solar explosion of the current solar cycle. Solar Cycle 25 which began in 2019. The most powerful flare was a monster X8.7 magnitude blast in May, which was the most powerful flare in the last seven years.
Radiation from Tuesday’s supercharged flare bypassed Earth’s magnetic shield or magnetosphere, and ionized the upper parts of the upper atmosphere, creating a temporary blackout above large parts of the Pacific Ocean, including Hawaii. The explosion also hurled a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) – a cloud of fast-moving plasma and radiation – into space, which NASA predicts will collide with Earth on Saturday (October 5), according to Spaceweather.com.”
And Jesus said to His disciples, in Luke 21:25-28, “There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars and, upon the earth, dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the SON of MAN (Jesus) coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But, when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings with love, Doug (10/3/24)
