Good afternoon, blog readers, from partly sunny and cold (39 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 6 deer, 3 planes and was greeted” by Barkie” the dog! Thank You, Jesus!
Years ago, I spoke on the phone with Roger Oakland who had written an excellent book, “Faith Undone,” which I would highly recommend to believers and unbelievers alike. Recently, this headline from Roger on the Lighthouse Trails website, got my attention: “Another Jesus or the True Jesus – Whom Are You Serving?” Let me share with you some of what Roger wrote:
“The apostle Paul was a man with a passion for the truth. While his ministry clearly focused on proclaiming the saving grace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he was also concerned when he saw the truth being compromised by Satan’s subtle, deceptive plan. While Paul made every effort to teach the church at Corinth the truth about Jesus and His death on the Cross to save them from their sins, false teachers and false doctrines had infiltrated the church. Obviously, some were being led astray. Thus, he expressed his concerns: ‘But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ, simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him (II Corinthians 11:3, 4). or if you receive another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel. which you have not accepted , you might well bear with him (II Corinthians 11:3, 4). The urgent message Paul delivered to the Corinthians is the same message I believe God wants proclaimed today. Satan’s plan to deceive has not been altered throughout the ages. His efforts to produce ‘another gospel,’ inspired by ‘a different spirit’ that seduces people into believing they know Jesus Christ when in reality they do not, are not new. Current trends indicate we are heading down a similar pathway leading toward a strong deception that has potential of deceiving the whole world.” Jesus said, in Matthew 24:24: “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect (believers in Jesus).”
Yes, dearly beloved, Jesus is coming, Satan knows that and is trying to take as many people to hell with him as possible through his lies, deceptions and, even, “miracles.” Jesus said, in Mark 13:33, 35, 37, “stay on the alert!” And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please become one today b y simply agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Love in Christ, Doug (10/14/24)
