BEWARE of FALSE CHRISTS!

Good afternoon, blog readers, from partly sunny and cold (39 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 6 deer, 3 planes and was greeted” by Barkie” the dog! Thank You, Jesus!

Years ago, I spoke on the phone with Roger Oakland who had written an excellent book, “Faith Undone,” which I would highly recommend to believers and unbelievers alike. Recently, this headline from Roger on the Lighthouse Trails website, got my attention: “Another Jesus or the True Jesus – Whom Are You Serving?” Let me share with you some of what Roger wrote:

“The apostle Paul was a man with a passion for the truth. While his ministry clearly focused on proclaiming the saving grace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he was also concerned when he saw the truth being compromised by Satan’s subtle, deceptive plan. While Paul made every effort to teach the church at Corinth the truth about Jesus and His death on the Cross to save them from their sins, false teachers and false doctrines had infiltrated the church. Obviously, some were being led astray. Thus, he expressed his concerns: ‘But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ, simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him (II Corinthians 11:3, 4). or if you receive another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel. which you have not accepted , you might well bear with him (II Corinthians 11:3, 4). The urgent message Paul delivered to the Corinthians is the same message I believe God wants proclaimed today. Satan’s plan to deceive has not been altered throughout the ages. His efforts to produce ‘another gospel,’ inspired by ‘a different spirit’ that seduces people into believing they know Jesus Christ when in reality they do not, are not new. Current trends indicate we are heading down a similar pathway leading toward a strong deception that has potential of deceiving the whole world.” Jesus said, in Matthew 24:24: “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect (believers in Jesus).”

Yes, dearly beloved, Jesus is coming, Satan knows that and is trying to take as many people to hell with him as possible through his lies, deceptions and, even, “miracles.” Jesus said, in Mark 13:33, 35, 37, “stay on the alert!” And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please become one today b y simply agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). THE UN of TERRORISM!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (42 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 3 deer! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from today’s Gatestone Institute, sadly, but not surprisingly, got my attention this morning: “United Nations’ Material Support for Terrorism: Allegedly Gave $1.3 Billion in Cash, Presumably for Weapons.”

Con Coughlin reported: “Gavriel Mairone, the attorney who is representing the plaintiffs, argues that these shocking allegations demonstrate that, for more than a decade, UNRWA’s aid distribution network was involved in widespread fraud and corruption. The lawsuit claims this scheme no only enriched Hamas but also funded terrorism, playing a pivotal role in the October 7 attacks. The first damning evidence of the UN’s complicity in the worst terrorist atrocity committed in Israel’s history emerged after Israel’s military reported that 450 workers employed by the UNRWA were ‘military operatives from Hamas and other armed groups” and has shared this intelligence with the United Nations. The dossier of “a UN crime against humanity” and its demonization of Israel is too long to list, but one can get a glimpse of it …

A better idea, given the body’s recent woeful record of its handling of Israel is too long to list, but one can get a glimpse of it… A better idea, given the body’s woeful record on its handling of the Middle East, would be to demolish the entire infrastructure of this corrupt and institutionally biased body. Accusations that the UN funded Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure by transferring $1.3 billion to the organization, some of which was used to finance the purchase of weapons used in last year’s October 7 attacks, will only add to the view that the UN is no longer fit to fulfill the role for which it was originally intended. The suit alleges that significant amounts of humanitarian aid intended for Gaza residents was diverted to Hamas.”

Interestingly enough, Moses, back in Deuteronomy 32:3-5, wrote: “For I proclaim the name of the Lord; Ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteous and upright is He. They have acted corruptly toward Him. They are not His children, because of their defect; but are a crooked and perverse generation.” Sadly, the times have not changed, for there are still large numbers of “crooks and perverts” in the world who have turned their backs on God and Christ. And, if you are one of them. know that, unless you have a “heart change” and believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you will spend your eternity in hell! But, there’s “good news” for the lost: Simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you an eternal life in heaven (John 3:16). Then, watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Love in Christ, Doug (10/13/24)

ISRAEL, IRAN & JESUS!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny, windy and cool (48 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 2 deer and heard the horn of a freight train as it rolled through town! Thank You, Jesus, that I can still see and hear!

This headline, from today’s Gatestone Institute, caught my eye: “Betraying the Free World?” In the article, Majid Rafizadeh wrote: “The only country in the Middle East consistently pressured to make concessions ‘to avoid escalation’ was the victim of October 7, Israel. The rapacity of Iran’s regime, which apparently feels free to launch attacks on U.S. troops at will – especially after enjoying massive amounts of US generosity – is breathtaking.

The Biden-Harris administration also infused the regime with ‘closer to $60 billion – which most likely funded its militias, its terrorist proxy organizations, such as Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis; its expansionist agenda as far away as Venezuela, and its oppressive domestic policies, to which, for a decade, the U.S. has turned a blind eye. When widespread protests take place in Iran, citizens bravely rise up against the regime, only to be brutally crushed … without so much as a glance from the U.S.

Iran, taking its cue from the Biden-Harris administration’s road-siding of Israel. proceeded, not surprisingly, to escalate its campaign against it. If there are no serious consequences, why stop? Israel now finds itself fighting for its survival on multiple fronts. Thanks to the seeming lack of support from the Biden administration, Israel alone must fend off Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, the UN, much of Europe, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, professionally whipped-up Western university campuses and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. The dangerous reality that unfolds when a once-reliable ally is abandoned, is that enemies can become increasingly aggressive so long as no one stops them.”

Right now, we are waiting to see if Israel will respond to its most recent attack from Iran. Let me remind you again, from the Hebrew Scriptures, particularly Ezekiel 38-39, that, at some time in the future when Russia, Iran and a host of other nations attack Israel to “take a spoil,” the Lord God Himself will come to Israel’s defense and destroy them all. Glory to God! So, stay tuned, dearly beloved in Christ, as we may actually see that happen in our lifetime. Note: Israel also needs to wake up and recognize Jesus as her Messiah and Savior or face the wrath of God. So, let us “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6) which will only come when she believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Messiah and Savior. Question: “Do you believe that Jesus died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). If you do, I’ll see you in heaven. Love in Christ, Doug (10/12/24)

JERUSALEM?

Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy/sunny and cool (54 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: a dog! Thank You, Jesus!

The Jerusalem Staff reported: “CBS News is facing backlash after an internal memo instructed journalists not to refer to Jerusalem as part of Israel, igniting criticism from media figures and raising concerns about journalistic integrity. The memo sent by CBS News senior director of standards Mark Memmott in late August, emphasized the disputed status of Jerusalem, despite its recognition as Israel’s capital by the US government.

This directive, alongside internal objections, sparked by an interview conducted by CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil on anti-Israel perspectives, has fueled controversy both within CBS and across the media landscape.

Memmott’s email advised CBS News staff to avoid saying Jerusalem is in Israel, noting that ‘the status of Jerusalem goes to the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.’ While the US embassy is in Jerusalem and the Trump Administration formally recognized it as Israel’s capital in 2017, the memo emphasized that its status is disputed. Israel considers Jerusalem its ‘eternal and undivided’ capital, while Palestinians claim East Jerusalem – captured by Israel in the 1967 war – as the capital of a future Palestinian state.”

The directive sparked outrage across social media and among journalists. Adam Rubenstein , contributing editor at The Free Press, stated, ‘Standards desks are now instructing journalists to deny reality. Fox News contributor Guy Benson responded, “Jerusalem is not only in Israel, it is the capital of Israel.”

Now, let me remind you that, according to Psalm 122:6, we are called by God to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” which will only come when the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) returns to set up His kingdom in Jerusalem. So, in the meantime, let us watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Him until He comes.

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you can become one today, right now, by simply agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24), and believing He died on a cross for Your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings with love, Doug (10/11/24)

MORE SIGNS in the SUN!

Good morning, blog readers, from clear and cool (37 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw two planes flying overhead and the heavens once again declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1). Thank You, Jesus!

This morning-headline, from Live Science, caught my eye: ‘Severe’ geomagnetic storm to slam Earth Thursday, with auroras possible as far south as California and Alabama.”

Brandon Specktor reported: “A powerful solar outburst is likely to trigger a ‘severe’ geomagnetic storm on Thursday (today), with auroras potentially visible as far south as California and Alabama., NOAA predicts. Storms of this magnitude may disrupt power grids, nudge satellites off course, interfere with GPS navigation and damage ‘critical infrastructure technology,’ NOAA warns. The solar outburst, known as a coronal mass ejection (CME) is the result of a powerful solar flare that erupted from our star on the evening of October 8, according to NOAA. The flare has been categorized as an X 1.8-class solar flare, which is the strongest type of flare the sun can emit.”

Jesus said, in Luke 21:25: “There will be signs in the sun, the moon and the stars.” He also said, in Matthew 24:8, that these “signs” will increase, like “birth pains,” in frequency and intensity, as we get closer to HIs return. So, as believers in Jesus let us “stay on the alert’ (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes.

And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you can become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3;23, 24) and believing He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). And, if you do, I’ll see you in heaven! Blessings, Doug (10/10/24)

HURRICANE VICTIMS or LEBANON?

Good morning, blog readers, from clear and cool (37 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I, once again, marveled as “the heavens declared the glory of God (Psalm 19:1)!

Normally, I try to stay out of politics in my blog. However, this headline, from today’s Gatestone Institute, really got my attention: “Vice President Kamala Harris Sends $157 Million to Lebanon After Claiming No Money for U.S. Hurricane Victims.”

In the article, Daniel Greenfield reported: “The United States will provide nearly $157 million in additional assistance to Lebanon. This additional support brings the total U.S. assistance to Lebanon over the last year to over $385 million, according to Vice President Kamala Harris, X.com, October 5, 2024. By contrast, there was $20 million for Hurricane Helene survivors. One more sign, I believe, that America may be under the judgment of God and cease to exist.as a nation.

And yet, the Bible tells us, in I Timothy 4:1-4, “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men (and women) to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.” Please forgive me, Lord, for not loving my enemies and praying for those who persecute me, according to Your Word in Matthew 5:44.

Certainly, there is a lot for us, as disciples of Jesus, to pray about and do. So, let us watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Love, Doug (10/9/24)

WHO CONTROLS the WIND?

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (43 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk under clear skies, I saw the heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1), a dog and a plane. Thank You, Jesus!

This headline , from today’s Prophecy News Watch, got my attention: “Is Weather Manipulation Possible?” Michael Snyder, author of the “End of the American Dream,” wrote: “This normally doesn’t happen. During regular times, a hurricane is not supposed to go from Category 1 to Category 5 in less than a day. At this moment, the roads out of Tampa Bay area are absolutely jammed with vehicles as local residents attempt to get out of the path of the coming storm.

We literally just witnessed one of the most destructive hurricanes in U.S. history, and now we are being told that Hurricane Milton could also be one of the most destructive hurricanes in history. So, what in the world is going on here?

Let me give you my take on this based on the Scriptures. In Genesis 8:1, 2, Moses recorded: “But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided. Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained. Then, in Exodus 10:13, we read: “So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord directed an east wind on the land that day; and all that night; and when it was morning the east wind brought the locusts. Next, in verse 19, we read: “So the Lord shifted the wind to a very strong west wind which took up the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea; not one locust was left in all the territory of Egypt” And, in Exodus 14:21, we read: “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided.” Based on these Scriptures and others, God controls the weather.

Now, let me take you, once again, to Luke 21:25-28 where the good doctor wrote: “And there will be signs in the sun, the moon and the stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But, when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Glory to God! Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus! So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes. And, if you are still not a believer in Jesus, simply agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Blessings with love & prayers, Doug (10/8/24)

WHAT’S NEXT? STAY TUNED!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (54 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk under clear skies, I not only saw the heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1) but also a neighbor and her dog! Thank You, Jesus!

This headline, from today’s Jerusalem Post, really got my attention: “IDF prepares ‘significant’ retaliatory strike to Iran’s missile barrage.”

In the article, Amir Bohbot reported: “The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) on Saturday commented regarding the retaliation against Iran for launching ballistic missiles toward Israel, clarifying that combat is currently ongoing on seven different fronts. Alongside the continued fighting in Gaza and the West Bank, Israeli soldiers and forces are engaged in operations in Lebanon, Iran, and its proxies in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq.

The struggle with Iran is viewed as a direct conflict, and it is expected that the Iranians will be preoccupied with their own affairs rather than just with their proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Yemen, and Iraq. The struggle with Iran is viewed as a direct conflict, and it is expected that the Iranians will be preoccupied with their own affairs rather than just with their proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Yemen, and Iraq.

The IDF plans to respond significantly but has not detailed the nature of that response. The IDF noted that the Iranians launched 201 missiles from Iran to Israel, some of which impacted targets. Consequently, there is a broad recommendation within the IDF to respond to the attack while minimalizing risks and maximizing opportunities. The IDF has threatened to strike in Syria against weapons that originated from Iran and are intended for Hezbollah’s use. The military emphasized its determination to thwart arms smuggling. All I (Doug) can say is: “Stay tuned to see how Israel will respond. Perhaps, we will see the fulfillment of Isaiah 17:1.

Off to worship. May the Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you HIs peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, these are scary and, perhaps prophetic, times in which we live. If you are not a believer in Jesus, please, become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Love in Christ, Doug (10/6/24)

THE RISE of ATHEISM!

Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (48 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk under clear skies, I saw the heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1) and 2 planes! Thank You, Jesus, that I can still walk and see!

This sad, but not surprising, headline, from today’s “Christian Today,” got my attention: ‘The UK is entering its first atheist age’, say researchers.’

In the article, the CT staff reported: “The proportion of atheists in the UK has grown to such an extent that it is now possible to speak of the country’s ‘first atheist age,’ a group of researchers has said after publishing the findings of a major study into atheism.

The ‘Explaining Atheism’ project led by Queens University Belfast surveyed nearly 25,000 people across Brazil, China, Denmark, Japan, UK and the USA with the aim of uncovering why some individuals are atheists and why some countries have higher percentages of atheists than others. Figures from this study and a preceding research project, ‘Understanding Unbelief (2017-2021), were converged from data from the British Social Attitudes Survey and World Values Survey to claim that the UK now has a relative majority of atheists. Figures from this study and a preceding research project, Understanding Unbelief (2017-2021) were converged with data from the British Attitudes Survey and World Values Survey to claim that the UK now has a relative majority of atheists. … According to the 2021 British Social Attitudes Survey and World Values Survey, whose figures were compiled in the year 2019, over half of the respondents (52%) said they did not belong to any religion, while a quarter said they did not believe in God.

Polling by the World Values Survey between 2017 and 2022 found that UK respondents were evenly split between those who believed in God (47.7%) and those who did not (48.5%). Four decades ago, in 1981, three-quarters of Britons said they believed in God, a stark picture of how much faith in the UK has declined.”

The Explaining Atheism research project involved several UK universities, including Brunel University of London and the University of Kent. Commenting on the study’s findings, Dr. Lois Lee, from the University of Kent’s Department of Religious Studies, said: “The UK is entering its first atheist age.”

And Jesus said to HIs disciples, in Matthew 24:10, “And at that time (the time leading up to His return), many will fall away (from the faith) and will deliver up one another and hate one another.” And, Paul wrote, in II Thessalonians 2:3, 4, “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it , that is, the day of the Lord’s judgment, “will not come unless the apostasy comes first.”

And so, for those of you who are expecting a great revival to break out at anytime, I don’t see it anytime soon. However, I do know that, at sometime in the future, there will be a “great revival” when the 144,000 Jewish evangelists are called to preach the gospel of the kingdom , as recorded in Revelation 7, resulting in “a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” Glory to God!

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! But, in the meantime, let us: watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please, I beg you, become one today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Please know I love you and am praying for you. In Christ, Doug (10/5/24)

REVELATION 12:12!

Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (70 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 3 deer and heard a baby screech owl screeching! Thank You, Jesus!

Recently, I read this article by Dr. David Reagan: “Netanyahu’s UN Speech: Witnessing Bible Prophecy.” In the article, Dr. Reagan wrote: “On Friday morning, September 27, I saw Bible prophecy fulfilled before my very eyes as I watched Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu om television address the General Assembly of the United Nations. It happened as he approached the podium to deliver his address. As he walked forward, two-thirds of the delegates got up from their seats and walked out. Netanyahu was left with an almost empty auditorium to speak to. The specific Bible prophecy this event reminded me of was written by the Hebrew prophet 2,500 years ago. Speaking of the end times, he prophesied that God will ‘make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.’ Although the United States delegation to the UN was one of the few that remained in their seats, it has become obvious that America’s support of Israel is severely waning. For example, when Netanyahu spoke to Congress in March of 2015, 58 Democrats boycotted the session. And, when Netanyahu went to Congress in July of this year, 128 Democrats refused to attend.”

Let me remind you that, in Zechariah 2:8, the Lord said: “After glory He (the Lord) has sent me against the nations which plunder you (Israel), for he who touches you (Israel), touches the apple of His eye.” Now, granted, most of Israel rejected Jesus as her Messiah and Savior and will be held accountable by God for that, as only one third of the Jews will enter the kingdom when the Lord returns (Zechariah 13:7-9). And, those nations, including the United States, who have turned their backs on Israel, will continue to suffer greatly, as we are seeing today and will see in the future. So, let us pray for “the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6) which will only come when the “Prince of Peace,” the Lord Jesus Christ, comes to set up His kingdom. And, oh how I look forward to that day.

Question: “Do you look forward to the day when Christ shall come and take all the believers in Him home to heaven” I surely do! And, if you haven’t believed in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, do so today by agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe He died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). Love in Christ, Doug (10/4/24)
