Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (47 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 26 robins, 20 grackles, 3 cranes, 3 deer, 2 crows, 2 finches, 2 red-winged blackbirds, a bunny, a cardinal, a dog, a dove and a duck!

This morning headline from the Times of Israel caught my prophetical eye: “In a first, Russian military said to fire S-300 missiles at Israeli jets over Syria.”

In the article, the TOI Staff reported: “Russian forces opened fire on Israeli jets with advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missiles as they allegedly attacked targets in northwestern Syria last week, Channel 13 news reported Monday, in what could signal a significant shift in Moscow’s attitude to Israel. According to the unsourced report, the incident occurred on Friday as the Israeli air force bombed several targets near the city of Masyaf in northwestern Syria.”

This made me think of the prophecy of Isaiah 17:1 which is titled, “The oracle concerning Damascus.” Next, the prophet Isaiah wrote: “Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city, and it will become a fallen ruin.”

Now, according to history, Damascus is believed to have been or be either the oldest city in the world or one of the oldest cities in the world which has been attacked and destroyed numerous times, only to be rebuilt again and again. However, this prophecy states that Damascus will “be removed from being a city and become a fallen ruin.” How could that happen? Well, in my opinion, it could possibly be destroyed by a nuclear weapon from one of the many nuclear powers in the world, but, I am thinking, from Israel.

So, as Israel continues to attack targets in Syria with a response from Russia, I am looking for (and I could be wrong) Israel to, one day, completely destroy Damascus, Syria with a nuclear weapon. Stay tuned! Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention. According to Psalm 83:8, Assyria (today: Syria) is mentioned as one of Israel’s neighbors who will, one day, rise up against her to “wipe them (Israel) out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.” Not going to happen, according to the Word of God. See Jeremiah 31:35-37. Charles Ryrie comments: “The permanence of the cycle of nature and the immeasurableness of heaven and earth guarantee the survival of the Jews.”

As I have said before, we could actually see Bible prophecy fulfilled in our lifetime! Stay tuned! And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, you might want to become one before the missiles start flying! And, all you have to do is agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior (Romans 3:23, 24) Who is Jesus Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16). This headline from the AP (Associated Press) really made me mad this morning: “4 Air Force cadets may not graduate due to vaccine refusal.”

Lolita C. Baldour, of the AP, reported: “Four cadets at the Air Force Academy may not graduate or be commissioned as military officers this month because they have refused the COVID-19 vaccine, and they may be required to pay back thousands of dollars in tuition costs, according to Air Force officials. It’s the only military academy, so far, where cadets may face such penalties. The Army and Navy said that, as of now, not one of their seniors is being prevented from graduating at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, or the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, due to vaccine refusals. The graduations are in about two weeks.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last year made the COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for service members, including those at the military academies, saying the vaccine is critical to maintaining military readiness and the health of the force.”

What a disgrace! First of all, we have been told a lie from the President on down to “follow the science.” Well, the science is that the COVID-19 “vaccines” are not real vaccines at all; they are experimental gene therapies with no liability from the drug companies for deaths and injuries (Hello!) which, according to the latest report from VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) show: 1,261,149 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID-19 “vaccines”, including 27,968 deaths and 228,477 injuries between December 14, 2020 and May 6, 2022.” So much for “safe and effective” and “maintaining military readiness and the health of the force.”

As I have said before, I believe (and I could be wrong) but, based on my understanding of Bible prophecy, the United States will continue to lose its power in the world and may even be destroyed by the likes of Russia, China, North Korea and Iran (Ezekiel 38; Revelation 16:12), all of which will be destroyed by the Lord God Himself, according to Ezekiel 38:18-39:29; Revelation 19:11-20:10.

Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, the news continue to get more and more depressing with all these mass shootings. Remember, Jesus said, in Matthew 24:12, “And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold” which we are now seeing. So, keep your eyes “fixed on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for and walking with Him until He comes. When you think of the WHO, most people would think of the 60’s rock group from England. However, there is another WHO we need to be aware of: The World Health Organization. This headline from the Gatestone Institute is concerning: “DANGER: The WHO’s Death Trap for the US.”

In the article by Pete Hoekstra, he reports: “This is a plan that Congress and the public need to fight vigorously. The Biden administration, it appears, unless stopped immediately, is tee-ing up America to make it easy for the Chinese Communist Party to defeat it, and other nations, through biological warfare.

On May 22-28, 2022, ultimate control over America’s healthcare system, and hence its national sovereignty, will be delivered for a vote to the World Health Organization’s governing legislative body, the World Health Assembly,” according to Dr. Peter Breggin and Ginger Ross Breggin, America Out Loud, May 4, 2022.

This threat is contained in new amendments to WHO’s International Health Regulations, proposed by the Biden administration, that are scheduled as ‘Provisional agenda item 16.2’ at the upcoming conference on May 22-28. These amendments will empower WHO’s Director General to declare health emergencies or crisis in any nation and do so unilaterally and against opposition of the target nation.”

Note: I am not sure what all of this means. But, it could mean, in my opinion, one more step towards the downfall of the United States of America. This headline, from yesterday’s Christian Headlines, got my attention this morning: ‘Shocking’ New Poll: Only 37 Percent of U.S. Pastors Hold a Biblical Worldview.”

Michael Foust reported: “A majority of Christian pastors in the United States do not hold a biblical worldview, according to surprising new research from pollster George Barna who says the data shows a spiritual awakening is ‘desperately needed in our pulpits as in the pews.'”

The survey released Thursday by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University shows that only 37% of pastors in the U.S. hold a biblical worldview. Among senior/lead pastors, 41% possess a biblical worldview – the highest percentage within the sub-groups of pastors. Less than one-third of associate/assistant pastors (28%), teaching pastors (13%), and children’s/youth pastors (12%) hold a biblical worldview, the data found.

“The data on children’s and youth pastors, Barna said, is particularly discouraging. Keep in mind, a person’s worldview primarily develops before the age of 13, then goes through a period of refinement during their teens and twenties. From a worldview perspective, a church’s most important ministers are the children’s and youth pastors. Discovering that 7 out of every 8 of those pastors lack a biblical worldview helps to explain why so few people in the nation’s youngest generations are developing a heart and mind for biblical principles and ways of life, and why our society seems to have run wild over the last decade, in particular.”

Just another sign of the “apostasy” Jesus spoke about in Matthew 10:24 which would precede His coming and Paul, in II Thessalonians 2:3, about the coming of Antichrist. Sad, but true. So, let us, as believers in and followers of Jesus, remain vigilant while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for and walking with Him before His return. Now, I don’t know (only God does) whether or not these three headlines will come true. But, what I do know is that God is still in control and all of His prophecies, including Matthew 24:4-14 which I have written about in my book, “Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy,” will be fulfilled in His time. And, what I have also learned from His Word, particularly Psalm 112:7, 8, “Surely he (the righteous man) will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.” Hallelujah! Glory to God!

But, there’s good news: Jesus said, in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He have gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Eternal life in heaven, free of pain, suffering, problems, war and bills. And, all for agreeing with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4) to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (John 3:16).

This headline, from the May 9th Gatestone Institute, caught my eye this morning: “China Accelerates Nuclear Buildup, Military Modernization; Biden Speeding U.S. to Defeat.”

In the article, Judith Bergman reported: “The PRC (Peoples Republic of China) likely intends to have at least 1,000 warheads by 2030, exceeding the pace and size the U. S. DoD (Department of Defense) projected in 2020. ‘In space, China is putting up satellites at twice the rate of the United States and fielding operational systems at an incredible rate,’ General David Thompson, the Space Force’s first vice chief of space operations, quoted in The Washington Post, November 30, 2021.’

Timothy Heath, senior international and defense researcher at Rand Corporation, was quoted in the January 4, 2022 Business Insider, as saying: “The Chinese are building up their military capabilities in space, cyberspace and in the conventional force, all at the same time.”

Bergman continues: “There is now as well the added probability of China and Russia engaging in military coordination … a strategic partnership of ‘no limits’ and with ‘no forbidden areas’ in an agreement that they said was aimed at countering the influence of the United States.

Meanwhile, President Biden’s proposed defense budget risks speeding the U.S. to defeat by insufficiently taking into account the current skyrocketing inflation, as acknowledged in early April by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Pentagon comptroller Mike McCord. ‘This budget assumes an inflation rate of 2.2%, which is obviously incorrect because it’s almost 8%, said Milley.'”

As I have said before, when Russia and a host of other nations invade Israel in the future “to take a spoil,” no one, comes to her defense, but the Lord God Himself Who alone destroys Russia and the other invaders (Ezekiel 38-39). So, that leaves the door open for the “kings from the east” (China, perhaps North Korea and others (Revelation 16:12) to march to Megiddo where they and the other surviving nations will gather for war and be destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Revelation 19:11-20:10). Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Yes, dearly beloved, Jesus is coming. And, though I firmly believe (and I could be wrong) in a Pre-Trib Rapture of the Church, I also believe we (the true Church) will experience tough times even before Jesus comes for His bride. These headlines caught my prophetical eye this morning;

#1. IAEA warns that Iran not forthcoming on past nuclear activities (Reuters)

#2. Palestinians Lie to Murder Jews (Gatestone Institute)

#3.The Recipe for an Explosion on the Temple Mount (the algemeiner)

In the first article, Reuters reported: “The head of the United Nations’ atomic watchdog said on Tuesday Iran was dragging its feet on information about uranium particles found at old undeclared sites in the country, raising the prospect of a clash on the issue in June. … Those sites suggest that Iran had nuclear material there that it did not declare to the agency.”

In the second article, Bassam Tawil wrote: “The terrorists and their families are saying that they actually believe the lies of the Palestinian leaders that the mosque is being attacked, violated and desecrated by Jews. They say that this is the reason they are sending Palestinians to murder Jews on the streets of Israeli cities.”

And, in the third article, Yossi Kuperwasser reported: “Recent events om the Temple Mount and the Al-Aksa mosque, with the growing tension between Israel and the Palestinians, largely reflect the completely different ways the two sides view the reality around the Mount, particularly Israel’s actions there. In the Israeli perceptual framework, Israel is a state that seeks stability and is committed to the status quo on the Temple Mount, the freedom of worship for all religions in Jerusalem, and maintaining public order. However, the status quo is challenged by extremist groups from both sides, and Israel is taking the necessary measures to prevent them from undermining stability, including the use of reasonable force.”

So, let me tell you what I think about these three articles from a prophetic standpoint: First of all, I believe, based on Psalm 83, Israel’s Muslim neighbors will fight against Israel to “wipe them (Israel) out as a nation” (Verse 4), only to be defeated by the Israeli army. Then, during a time of “peace and security” for Israel, Russia, Iran and a host of nations will invade Israel to “take a spoil,” only to be destroyed by the Lord God Himself. Exit Iran!

Secondly, I believe, based on Daniel 9:27, that, one day the antichrist will make a “peace treaty” with Israel for seven years, allow the Jews to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem and, after three and a half years, desecrate the temple, declare that he alone is God to be worshipped with the death penalty for all who resist him (Revelation 13:15-18). Exit two thirds of the Jews (Zechariah 13:8, 9).

Thirdly, I believe the Lord Jesus Christ will oversee the rebuilding of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, based on Ezekiel 40-48. Now keep in mind, this is my understanding of the prophetic Scriptures. And, I could be wrong. Oh, and one more thing, over the last 24 hours, there were 2 “moderate” (5.4 and 5.6) earthquakes in or near Vanuatu and the South Sandwich Islands Region and a “strong” (6.8 quake) in Argentina.

So, stay tuned, dear brothers and sisters in Christ while watching, waiting, working, witnessing for and walking with Jesus until He comes. Good morning, blog readers, from partly cloudy/sunny and warm (62 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 20 robins, 10 grackles, 7 geese, 6 red-winged blackbirds, 3 deer, 3 doves, a bunny, a cardinal and a dog!

Over the last 4 days, there have been 23 “moderate” (5.0-5.5) earthquakes and another 2 “strong” (6.0 and 6.3) quakes in different parts of the world. According to Jesus, in Matthew 24 and Mark 13, said these “birth pains” will increase in frequency and intensity, as we get closer to His return.

Then, there was this headline out of Israel from JEWISHPRESS.com: “Energean Discovers Gas off Israel’s Shore near Karish and Tanin Fields.” In the article, David Israel, reported: “Energean plc on Monday morning announced it had made a commercial gas discovery in the Athena exploration well, offshore of Israel. In December, 2017, Energean was awarded five offshore exploration licenses within the Israeli Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), for blocks 12, 21, 23 and 31. According to Monday’s press release, the discovery was inside block 12. Preliminary analysis indicates that the Athena discovery contains recoverable gas volumes of 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas (bcm) on a standalone basis.”

Now, you might ask, “What’s the big deal about that?” Well, according to Ezekiel 38:12-13, as I have said before, at some time in the future, Russia, Iran and a host of other nations will invade Israel to “capture spoil and to seize plunder” which verse 13 specifies as silver, gold, cattle and goods.” And so, my thought is (and I could be wrong) that Israel will have something or things the invading nations will need or want. Stay tuned!

So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, be prepared for tougher times, as we watch, wait, work, witness for and walk with Jesus until He comes. As I was looking over all the different articles I have printed, this headline, from the April 13th EarthSky, got my attention: “Asteroid Apophis to sweep close 7 years from now.”

So, what’s so big about that? Well, I believe in what is called the “Tribulation” which just happens to be a period of seven years, according to Daniel 9:24-27, after which the Messiah (King Jesus) will come to the earth and set up His kingdom. And, just before He comes back, Dr. Luke records, in Luke 21:25-27: “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man (King Jesus) coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Alleluia! Glory to God!

So, is it possible that Asteroid Apophis will hit the earth just before Jesus returns? According to the above article, many of the astronomers believe, “Apophis will not strike the earth in 2029.” They go on to say: ” Apophis is exciting, but not frightening!” What is frightening is a life without Jesus as your Savior because then He will be your Judge Who will send you to hell for eternity. But, it doesn’t have to be frightening. In fact, it becomes exciting when you realize you are a sinner who needs a Savior (Romans 3:23, 24) and believe Jesus died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (I Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16). This headline from Reuters caught my prophetical eye this morning: “Putin to send ‘doomsday’ warning to West at Russia’s WW2 victory parade.”

In the article, Guy Falconbridge reported: “President Vladimir Putin will send a ‘doomsday’ warning to the West when he leads celebrations on Monday marking the 77th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany, brandishing Russia’s vast firepower while its forces fight in Ukraine. Defiant in the face of deep Western isolation since he ordered the invasion of Russia’s neighbor, Putin will speak on Red Square before a parade of troops, tanks, rockets and intercontinental ballistic missiles.”

Let me remind you again, from the Word of God (Ezekiel 38-39), that, one day in the future, the Lord God Himself will destroy Russia, Iran and a host of other nations when they invade Israel to “take a spoil.” But, until then, I believe (and I could be wrong) Russia will wreak havoc on the West, perhaps even the United States, possibly with the help of China, North Korea and Iran. Stay tuned!

Oh, and there were 4 more “moderate” (5.0-5.5) earthquakes, over the last 24 hours, in or near Fiji, Japan (2) and New Caledonia. And, remember, Jesus said these would increase in frequency and intensity like “birth pains” (Matthew 24:8) which reminds me, there are still copies of my book, “Birth Pains: An Introduction to Bible Prophecy” for sale on Amazon.
