Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy, windy and cool (51 degrees) where, on my morning walk, I saw: 36 robins, 19 grackles, 5 geese, 4 doves, 4 red-winged blackbirds, 2 cardinals, a crane and a crow! Thank You, Jesus!
Yesterday, there were, according to the USGS: 4 “moderate” (5.0, 5.0, 5.2, 5.5) and 2 “major” (7.0 and 7.2) earthquakes around the world. And, over the last 24 hours, there have been: 4 “moderate” (5.1, 5.1, 5.1, 5.2) and 3 “strong” (6.2, 6.2, 6.4) quakes for a total of: 8 “moderate,” 3 “strong” and 2 “major” quakes over the last 24 hours. Some of you might say, “So what?” or “Who cares?”
Well, let me tell you that Jesus cares and will, one day, increase the number and frequency of earthquakes around the world, including here in the U. S., like “birth pains,” as He told us in Matthew 24:7, 8 and Mark 13:8. And, I find it interesting that Dr. Luke (have I told you he is my favorite gospel writer?) wrote in Luke 21:11, “there will be ‘great’ earthquakes in various places.” And, it just happens to be that the largest of all earthquakes, according to the USGS, are called “great” (8.0+)! And, if you want to see what these look like, read Revelation 11:13 and 16:18.
Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! And, I personally believe (and I could be wrong) He could even come in our lifetime, based on the most recent shootings in Texas and Buffalo which made me think of what Jesus said in Matthew 24:12, “And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.”
And yet, as “most people’s love grows cold,” our love for Christ, lost souls and other believers should grow hot that we might reach the lost for Christ, as well as build up the body of Christ, the Church, until He comes, to His glory. And, if you are not a believer in Jesus, please know that God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. But first, you must agree with God you are a sinner who needs a Savior Who is Jesus (Romans 3:23, 24) Who died on a cross for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life (I Corinthians 15:1-4; John 3:16). Praying I’ll see you in heaven. Blessings, Doug (5/27/22)
