Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (47 degrees) Wisconsin where I am about ready to begin my blog by checking with the USGS to see what has been happening in the “earthquake world” over the last 24 hours. Here’s what I found: A 6.4 in the Philippines, a 5.3 in New Zealand, a 5.3 in Tajikistan, a 5.5 in Peru, a 5.5 in Fiji and the Philippines, a 5.4 in Mauritius, a 5.7 in Japan, a 5.2 in India, a 5.7 in South Africa, a 5.9 in the Southeast Indian Ridge and a 5.3 in Tajikistan. That’s 13 “moderate” earthquakes over the last 24 hours. So, let us “stay on the alert,” as Jesus told us, in Mark 13:33, 35, 37, to see if these will increase or decrease over the next 24 hours. Remember, Jesus used the expression “birth pains,” in Matthew 24:8, to describe the “frequency and intensity” of the “pains, as we get closer to His return.” Lord willing, I’ll update you tomorrow. Love in Christ, Doug (1/9/26)

THE BEGINNING of BIRTH PAINS?
Good afternoon, blog readers, from sunny and cold (15 Degrees) Wisconsin where I did not walk today because of the snow and ice, but was stunned when I heard of a “strong” (7.0) earthquake which produced 700+ landslides and avalanches in Alaska!! Question: “Could this be the beginning of the “birth pains” Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24:8?” where He prophesied of things like 700 landslides, earthquakes, avalanches and a “strong” (7.0) Alaskan earthquake? Remember, Jesus, in Mark 13:33, 35 and 37 advised His disciples to “stay on the alert!” Yes, dearly beloved, He is coming! Are you ready? Are you excited? You should be. And, though we may not know the “day or the hour,” of His return, I believe we will know when we are in the “ballpark.” And, to use a baseball term, I am thinking, Jesus is “warming up in the bullpen waiting for the pitching coach to signal to the bullpen coach for the starter (Jesus) to come into the game to save the day. So, dearly beloved, let us watch, wait, work, wait, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Love in Christ, Doug (1/2/26)
CALIFORNIA, HERE THEY COME!
Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (32 degrees) Wisconsin where, according to the USGS, there was a lot of earthquake activity (mostly “minor)”over the last 24 hours which bears watching with a number of mostly “minor” earthquakes in Alaska, California, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington. As Jesus told His disciples in Mark 13:33, 35 and 37, “be on the alert!”
Marni Rose McFall of Newsweek reported: “A swarm of earthquakes rattled the Bay Area on the evening of Friday, December 19. The earthquakes occurred over a 30-minute span, according to the USGS Geological Survey. There have been no reports of damage or casualties, and no tsunami warnings have been issued as of reporting.”
Yes, dearly beloved in Christ, He is coming! The “signs,” including earthquakes, are all there. And, if you don’t believe me, check out Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 and see if you agree. Love in Christ, Doug (12/20/25
Good morning, blog readers, from cloudy and cool (31 degrees) Wisconsin where, according to the USGS, “multiple earthquakes struck Japan on Sunday which is known for its persistent seismic activity.” Also, yesterday, according to the USGS, there were 3 “minor” quakes in California and a number of “moderate” (5.0-5.9) quakes in Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand, Russia, Fiji, Panama, the South Sandwich Islands and Mexico. Remember, Jesus said, in Matthew 24:7, that one of the “signs” leading up to His return would be “earthquakes in different places.” So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, “stay on the alert (Mark 13:33, 35, 37) and keep watching, waiting, working, witnessing for, walking with and worshiping Jesus until He comes!
Love in Christ,
Pastor Doug (12/22, 25)
QUESTION: “What if the the Yellowstone Volcano Erupts?” Answer: “The ‘breadbasket of the United States’ would be covered in enough ash to kill crops, potentially leading to long-term food shortages or “famine,” as Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24:7; Mark 13:13 and Luke 21:11.
P.S. In case you were wondering, the USGS which charts “earthquakes,” recorded today a “strong” 6.7) quake in Japan and 12 “moderate” quakes in Alaska, Chile, Greece, Japan, the Northern Mariana Islands, Russia (2) and the Solomon Islands. Sleep well and be ready for whatever the Lord would ask us to do tomorrow for Him. Love in Christ, Doug (12/17/25)

GREAT EARTHQUAKES!
Good morning, blog readers, from 28 degrees Wisconsin where I have decided to restart my blogs, highlighting “great earthquakes” which, according to Google, are “defined as those which are 8.0+ on the Richter Scale which are the planet’s most powerful seismic events and occur primarily at subduction zones, where one tectonic plate is forced beneath another.
The largest earthquake ever recorded, since modern seismography began, was the “Great Chilean Earthquake” which registered 9.5 on the Richter Scale and was the single, deadliest earthquake in recorded history. So, as Jesus told His disciples, in Mark 13:33, 35 and 37: ‘KEEP ON THE ALERT.” Love in Christ, Doug (12/10/25)
THANKSGIVING QUAKES!
Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (18 degrees) Wisconsin where The Daily Mail reported: “Earthquake Swarm Rattles California on Thanksgiving Sending Shockwaves up and Down the Coast. Californians were shaken by multiple earthquakes on Thanksgiving morning, raising concerns in the seismically active region. At lease 13 tremors, starting around 4:30 a. m. PT. and ranging from magnitude 1.0-3.7, were reported near The Geysers geothermal field in Northern California.” Residents as far south as San Francisco felt shaking, including from the first quake, a 3.6 magnitude tremor. California is the third-most seismically active US state after Alaska and Hawaii. Again, stay tuned, and watch for more frequent and intense earthquakes, as we get closer to the Lord’s return.
12 MODS & a BUCK
Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (39 degrees) Wisconsin where, get this, I saw a buck across the street from where we live. How exciting to record my first “creature count” in years! Thank You, Lord!
In addition, I also recorded 12 “moderate” (5.0-5.7) earthquakes in California, Mexico, Indonesia, the Pacific Antarctic Ridge, Wallis and Fortuna, Cyprus, the Balleny Islands Region, Alaska, Hawaii, the Eastern Pacific, Tonga and the Severo Kurilsk Region. Thank You, Jesus!
LOOK OUT BELOW!
Good morning, blog readers, from 58 degrees and cloudy Wisconsin where, over the last 24 hours, the USGS has recorded a whole lot of earthquakes both in the United States (Alaska, California, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii and Texas ) and around the world (Indonesia, Wallis and Fortuna, the Pacific Antarctic Ridge, Cyprus, Norway, Chile and Japan). Could these be more “signs” of the Lord’s coming?” Maybe. If so, then Jesus told us, in Mark 13:33, 35 and 37 to “stay on the alert” which means we are to watch, wait, work, witness for, walk with and worship Jesus until He comes. Love in Christ, Pastor Doug (11/16/25)
THE STRUGGLES & BLESSINGS DEMENTIA!
Good morning, blog readers, from sunny and cool (39) degrees) Wisconsin where I continue to struggle with dementia which, sadly, but providentially, limits my ability to preach, teach write, reason and drive, among other things. However, get this, I continue to do the grocery shopping which I have done since I was a child when my Mom was a single Mom who worked to support our family. Thank You, Mom, for teaching me the various skills which I still use to this day, even into my 70s! Love, Doug (11/12/25)
