PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE DISASTER!

Good morning, blog readers, from clear and cool (32 degrees) Wisconsin where, on my morning walk, I saw: 6 deer, a dog and the heavens declaring the glory of God (Psalm 19:1)! Thank You, Jesus!

Last night, I watched about 30 minutes of the so-called “presidential debate” and that was enough for me. During that time, I did not hear any of the debaters say anything nice about his/her opponents in what I can only describe as a “hate-fest” from the start. I can only hope our young people were not watching.

Certainly, there is a lot of “hate” in the world. But, I am reminded by something Jesus said to His disciples, in Matthew 5:43-45: “You have heard that it was said, ‘you shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that you may be sons (daughters) of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteous.”

Now, I don’t know where all the “debaters” (more like haters) stand in relation to Jesus. Certainly that’s between them and God Who knows everyone’s heart. But, I saw nothing resembling Jesus in any of the candidates to make me think they were representing God and Jesus on the platform. How sad! Then, I got to thinking, “Where is my heart and mind” in relation to God and Jesus?”

Certainly, I need to work on loving and forgiving like God and Jesus. How about you? May the Lord give us His wisdom, in the upcoming election to choose the most godly candidate who exemplifies the love of Christ that He might bless whomever He chooses to be the next President of the United States to His glory. Off to work! Please know I love you and am praying for you. Sincerely in Christ, Doug (12/7/23)
